Description: Based on a traditional nobleman's house, Huang Ting succeeds in recreating a genuine ‘hutong’ feel, with the heavy studded wooden front door, aged pine flooring and carved timber screens recycled from demolition sites in Shangxi Province and Beijing, as old courtyards are replaced by modern buildings. Two Hong Kong chefs produce exceptional Cantonese dim sum and classic regional dishes such as Sichuan Chilli Prawns. All-you-can-eat dim sum lunch is available from 11:30pm to 2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday while the a la carte menu is also served. Cost per person is RMB188 subject to 15% surcharge and RMB 228 subject to 15% surcharge including free flow of soft drink.

“Super Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

After a very busy few days of meetings I did not want to go anywhere special but I did want to eat Chinese and get to bed early. I was staying at the Peninsula and I went down to this charming restaurant that was cleverly decorated with first rate service and really excellent food. It was the Peninsula so it was very expensive relative to an off site restaurant but it was still a heck of a lot cheaper than New York or London and it gave a very local feeling for almost no effort on my part.

“Exploitive and too much like South Beach”

Make believe look at poverty and what gave Beijing distinctive character. Food insanely expensive, too.

“Fabulous time and fabulous duck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

This was our best experience in duck the entire time we were in China. As it is located in a 5 star hotel prices are a little higher but were still quite reasonable. The staff were very knowledgeable and they added to our experience. A great night in a great restaurant.

“Hutongtastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

One of the Peninsula Hotel's restaurants and made to look like a Beijing Hutong. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but there was no problem getting a table. Impeccable service and fabulous food. Although not cheap, worth every penny. Beijing is so vast, it is a real bonus to find such a high quality restaurant in the hotel you are staying in.

“Fabulous duck uncomfortable chairs...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Best duck we had in Beijing. Unfortunately staff talked us out of whole duck which I wish we had been able to enjoy!
Cocktails are not what you should order...stick with traditional Chinese beverages & you will be ok.
