“Fantastic food, one of a kind scene”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

We stumbled on this our first night in Beijing. (More or less--you can't easily stumble on a place high up in a mall.) It's so popular they offer manicures, kid's art projects, board games to waiting customers--a promise of the great service they provide. The hot pot is fantastic, with a great array of ingredients to put together your own sauce and condiments. Be sure to order the noodles, which are hand-pulled by a goofy performance artist tableside. We could have eaten here every night happily.

“DIY dipping sauce bar, need I say more?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

For those of you familiar with hot pot, one of my favorite things is the nutty flavored sesame dipping sauce. Haidilao has a whole bar where you can create your own concoction! It's really amazing, and unlimited watermelon doesn't hurt either. The service is phenomenal and they always provide you with hot wash clothes, not sure what they are for, but I use them to clean my hand and rub my face.

The food itself is as good as any other place I've been and beware, the spicy hot pot is really spicy, but I must admit I have a low tolerance for spiciness. The highlight for me really is the DIY dipping sauce bar. Also, not that expensive if you don't over order, 50 yuan per person for a group of 6, in my experience. Also, apparently open 24/7?

“Great hotpot, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

The best hotpot I've had (so far!) in China. Service is attentive and fast, the condiment bar and noodle dance have to be experienced and the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely go here again. Highly recommended.

“All about the experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

If you come to Beijing, you must go to Haidilao. It is one of the few places in Beijing that understands and demonstrates first class customer service, especially to all the foreigners who come in not speaking any Chinese. They have free snacks and games while you wait and at the Sanlitun branch they even have free manicures in the waiting area.

It is essentially like a large fondue, where you order your food and cook it together in a shared hot pot. The food quality is very good and the taste is great.

Just make sure you go early because there is usually a long wait for tables.

“A new one in the Dazhong Sicun, Haidian area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

April 25, 2014
I looked around for the correct address to review that one. I'm sorry it's not listed yet and it can take up to a year for new places to be approved. Please forgive me for doing this review in this way. It seems that most are met with the same reviews anyway.
This one is a few blocks south and east of the JingYi hotel in the Haidian district.
We went there as a family and it was GREAT!
They have a 'buffet' of sorts to pick out the spices and dips you want to use with your HotPot. To those that have never tried Hot Pot, I'm sorry. It's like one of the greatest things EVER! I have yet to have 'bad' Hot Pot.
Ok, Chinese family there, 2 year old daughter with us. She was a big hit there. The night manager brought a doll over for her to play with, near the front of the restaurant there were people selling flowers, they gave her a free flower. lol
Ok, this isn't a diary, it's a review.
Service was great. There were 5 adults and one child. The food just kept appearing!
In China if you order your food ahead online you can get a good discount. Discount and availability varies by restaurant.
Staff was quick to take empty plates and more napkins.
There must have been two dozen choices of sauces and spices and also various vegetables on the buffet style table.
I didn't realize it was a chain type restaurant, it just doesn't have that atmosphere to it.
I would recommend one of these to anyone.
