“Great hotel, well located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

An excellent hotel. Not just clean; spotless. Friendly staff. Prompt service.

Large, well-appointed rooms with all amenities.

Service in the executive lounge (C Tower) was exceptional.

The hotel is a very, very short walk from the Beijing Railway Station and the Henderson Shopping Mall. It is a relatively short walk from the Wangfujing Street shopping district. And it is close to other attractions.

The only constructive criticism is that the breakfast options (both Chinese and western) were somewhat lacklustre and unimaginative.

“5 Stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This is an amazing 5 Star hotel! This hotel was booked on behalf of our China Spree Tour Package and I was thoroughly impressed with the whole property. Our room was HUGE (Tower B Floor 10) and spectacular, although, the view was odd. It looks like rural China in the back but that didn't bother me since it was China! We didn't walk around the area due to the chilly cold weather and we usually returned to the hotel late at night from our packed day, however, it was close distance from shops and dining when we traveled by cab. Our tour group hung out in the lobby/lounge almost nightly and the bar service was great. The atmosphere was relaxed. I did catch a singer playing on the piano in the lobby at one point but didnt see her again. Not sure if her performances were scheduled. Drinks are pricey though for China standard (US$11+) but it is a higher end hotel. We had free buffet breakfast at one of the restaurants daily and there was a nice variety of food - croissants, fruits, dim sum, noodles, omelets, fresh juices, etc. I personally loved the coffee machine! Our tour package included an optional in-room hotel affiliated foot massage which I found the experience very weird. I don't recommend it since it didn't do much for my feet or my back. There is a money exchange machine in the lobby which you'll need your passport to scan to use. Very convenient.

“Excellent customer service, lounge, and size of rooms.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

My wife and I arrived at the Marriott Hotel Beijing City Wall on Friday 4 January and departed Tuesday 8 January, 2013. Being a gold Marriott rewards card holder, upon arrival the front desk clerk stated that we received a room upgrade facing west. The lobby of the hotel is quite opulent with marble floors and a contemporary flair. You can definitely notice that this hotel was part of the many hundreds if not thousands built for the 2008 Olympics. The sheer size of the hotel amazes me.

The room was fantastic in size and amenities. We had a living room, two full bathrooms, beautiful bed and two closets. We were located on the 15th floor tower B.

We had the opportunity to eat at the Italian restaurant "Provincia" twice (2x) during our stay at the hotel. The servers there were fantastic and spoke very well English. It seems like the restaurants only had a few people dining in them which was quite odd. I don't understand this because the food was great there.

We also tried to dine at the hot pot restaurant but this was an epic failure and i will not let that impact our review here. Basically everything we ordered was cold and soggy. The restaurant allowed us to pay for what we consumed and then we both left to go back to Provincia.

Once again, the gold Marriott rewards card allows access to the executive lounge on the 16th floor of Tower A. Let me tell you that this experience is worth a stay. The front desk clerks of the lounge find a way to greet both my wife with our last name and I every time we enter the lounge. The food was decent, the coffee was excellent with the best omelets I’ve ever had in my life in terms of consistency. You would sit down and there would be a server ready to fill your drink up, make you a drink, and ensure that you are satisfied. This was a nice place to relax. Although it was a bit hot everyday but that is understandable because it got down to 5 Deg F outside.

The hotel is 10 minute walk to the Beijing Railway Station, which is great because it’s also subway line #2 (inner loop line).

The last day in Beijing, my wife and I wanted to visit the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. I knew that there was a tour bus that goes there in the morning departing at 7:30 but that scene is not for us. The hotel set us up with a driver for 800 RMB that would take us to/from the wall and wait for us at the bottom of the mountain. The driver, Mr. Wong was very polite and we had an excellent time at the wall.

The only reason why I’m giving this place 5* instead of 4* is because of the customer service which i think is such an important factor in the hospitality industry. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

“Excellent Hotel. Close to everything.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

We stay at this hotel almost exclusively while in Beijing. It's simply the best Marriott property we have stayed at here. It's close to everything, short walk to Silk Market or The forbidden city. A sort cab ride to the pearl market. The hotel is very comfortable with large well light rooms with all the amenities one would expect from a Marriott. As a Platinum member we have access to the Executive Lounge which has a great breakfast Buffett in the morning and drinks and canapé at night. There are good restaurants in the hotel to meet your culinary choices. Would defiantly recommend this hotel on a visit to Beijing.

“Lovely, wonderful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days while we toured Beijing. The hotel is beautiful, wonderful lobby, and the restaurants were very good. They served a bounteous breakfast buffet--it was very good. We would recommend, and would stay here again.
