“What a find. Modern, stylish and well placed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

I was told you will love it or hate it - what is there not to love about this hotel?
The modern and funky reception with the open plan nature is complemented by a wooden themed bedroom - wooden bath and sinks with a wooden floor.
Free mini bar and little night time gifts are a nice touch.
There are some great bars near by and top end shops right beside a huge clothing market, so all tastes and budgets are catered for.
If you are in Beijing give this place a try!

“very nice boutique hotel but the service could be improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

the Opposite house is one of the best hotel in Beijing. The rooms are simple but nice, the whole hotel has a nice design touch and there are always some art pieces from Li Xiao Feng.
My favorite thing is the bed, very very comfortable and the bed linen is sooo soft.
however, last time my room was smelly, i think it came from the bathroom drains and as usual, the sink is not very user friendly (water splashes...).

But don't miss understand me, this hotel is great, and its location is very convenient.

“Blew me away!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

This is very much like living in a cross between the Tate modern and an eco resort with a dose of European sensibility.
What a great place to stay..walking around the hotel itself was a delight and full of surprises. The food was spectacular and unexpected in Beijing and the room was the definition of an oasis

“Simply Sensational!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

What a fabulous hotel! One of the best we have ever stayed in. The room was gorgeous with fantastic design features. Loved the free Wi-fi and the complimentary mini bar was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and really helpful, even offering to go out and get me credit for my phone. The manager came out and personally introduced himself to us, wishing us a happy anniversary - the personal touch was appreciated. The whole place was really chilled which we liked a lot. An awesome experience and a place we would highly recommend to anyone. There is no hotel that compares in Beijing!

“Great boutique hotel in a live district of Beijing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

The hotel has a great design with large rooms around the theme of wood. Everything is very comfortable, well thought and well executed. Staff are very friendly, young and efficient. There is no desk in the lobby but rather it is designed as a living room with large sofas where staff greets you and check you in with their tablets. Very very cool and smooth.
The area is not very central for the main touristic destinations (e.g. Tian an Mens square, forbidden city, etc.). However, the subway is ot too far, is efficient and very cheap.
The area of Sunlitan where the hotel is located is very hype, full of trendy stores and bars. Nightlife is intense.
A very good choice for my second stay in Beijing!
