“Hotel G has seen its better days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

I have stayed here on business twice a year the past few years on my visits to Beijing and usually enjoy my time here. But the hotel is definitely heading downhill.

The rooms are now poorly maintained, the bathrooms are worn , water leaks heavily from the showers all over the floor, and generally the rooms are now very dated.

The staff are friendly, but inexperienced. Basic requests like picking up and returning laundry were a huge challenge. The restaurant and wine bar are good...and the wait staff were excellent....certainly the highlight of my stay.

Getting taxis are a joke...head out to the road...you are on your own with no help from the staff In the lobby ...plus if you stay here...know where you are going...Taxi drivers cannot find this ally in the dark.

Hotel G is in need of a makeover.....

Stayed at this fantastic boutique hotel in April 2012. The rooms were excellent and so was the service. Would definitively go back and would recommend this anyone looking for the best place to stay in Beijing.

I only stayed there for a night, so all I can say is a lot of the positive reviews here are true. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. There's a rain shower but no bath tub. A small point is there wasn't any space to put toiletries around the sink. It's a minor detail but if there's two of you sharing the room it might be a problem. Otherwise the bathroom is nice and spacious. The staff speaks good English, has good attitude and is helpful. They advised me on what would be a good time to avoid the traffic congestion so I could arrive at the airport on time. The taxi which they helped to call in advance (to the airport) came promptly the next morning. I was a bit worried about the color lighted windows because I need a dark room to have a proper sleep, fortunately the lights was turned off later (around midnight I think?). It is within walking distance to Mix if you are into clubbing. Having my favourite L'occitant soaps and shampoo was actually one of the reasons why I picked this hotel so I was quite a happy guest.

Room Tip: I am not sure if it's available but I would ask for a room without lighted windows.

it is a boutique hotel with high quality rooms and facilities.
service is very impressive and friendly compared to other in China. They speak good English.
The Hotel is very well located: near the animated and business area of Beijing and not far from touristic area. So perfect to visit during the day and to enjoy Beijing the evening being already around the restaurants, the bars, ...
Value for money is very good.

I believe Hotel G is the result of rich investors working with young and open-minded managers, which is difficult to find in China.

Hardware is done seriously : modern decoration design with high quality materials, imported western food, and many pleasant details (such as individual soap "L'occitane en Provence" provided in the room).

Management is young and that makes the difference. Staff is easy-going but efficient, chek-in/out procedure are quick, atmosphere in the restaurant is fashionable and dynamic, and the taxi I ordered at the desk for 6am was on-time.

Hotel is located at 2 minutes from a pool of nice night clubs, and half-an hour by taxi (without traffic jam)

Room rate is not cheap but much less expensive than five star hotel for a similar service level and much more fresh experience.
