I believe Hotel G is the result of rich investors working with young and open-minded managers, which is difficult to find in China.
Hardware is done seriously : modern decoration design with high quality materials, imported western food, and many pleasant details (such as individual soap "L'occitane en Provence" provided in the room).
Management is young and that makes the difference. Staff is easy-going but efficient, chek-in/out procedure are quick, atmosphere in the restaurant is fashionable and dynamic, and the taxi I ordered at the desk for 6am was on-time.
Hotel is located at 2 minutes from a pool of nice night clubs, and half-an hour by taxi (without traffic jam)
Room rate is not cheap but much less expensive than five star hotel for a similar service level and much more fresh experience.
