“Great location having in mind enormously large Beijing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Hotel is 10 km from Beijing city center (Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City) which is excellent location having in mind how enormously large is Beijing. Metro station is about 20 min walking from hotel so we prefer using taxi ( it is around 25 Yuan = 3 euro from hotel to center).
Hotel has descent rooms, very clean bed sheets and bathroom (bathroom has hair drier, bathrobes, slippers and all possible amenities, though the room furniture (arm chair, carpet) was quite dirty. Air condition is great and sound isolation excellent , which is very important since the heavy traffic 24/7 and construction in progress in front of the hotel. Hotel restaurant offers great food (both Chinese and western). KFC is on the other side of the hotel for fast snack if needed. Wi-Fi is free only in hotel lobby, rooms have cable internet. Our room had cable so I guess all does. Stuff is friendly. We stayed in this hotel 5 nights as part of a tour so we did not actually choose it but we were generally happy with the hotel.
Overall we would recommend this hotel to all future Beijing travelers.

This was another out of the way hotel, it was again a good taxi ride, from 'Downtown" Beijing. The hotel stood back behind a very small block of shops, first impressions were not too bad, but on closer inspection, the bed was clean, but the room in particular the carpets were filthy., there was a really bad odour of stale cigarettes. The bathroom was quite clean, toiletries were provided, but the floor was not clean,. Breakfast here was reasonably well provided, there was certainly plenty of choice, and no one went away hungry. But not a bad nights sleep.couldn't turn down the heating so temperature in room was almost tropical

Room Tip: A little out of the way, Drinks very very expensive

Room was lovely. Only drawback was the HEAT. We asked for it to be turned down as all automated. A lot of the people on the tour we were on, also complained about the heat. Middle of winter, 5 degrees outside and felt like 30 inside. Was like living in a dryer. Rooms were spacious and modern tho.

Out the back door of the motel turn right down the side street and about 200 mts there is a shopping center complete with three storey supermarket/department store. Everything and anything on the shelf.

Room Tip: Ask for a cooler room.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a Wendy Wu tour so I did not actually choose this myself but was generally happy with the hotel.

Location – Hotel is located on one of the city’s ring roads. It is quite a long way from the sites of Beijing and the business district (although a metro station is being built which will help). There are no bars in the area, but there are a few fast food restaurants and some shopping centres nearby.

Room – Good size with nice décor. Free Wi-Fi access, cable TV, Fridge/Minibar, kettle. Free bottled water. Glass wall between room and bathroom. The rooms on the top floors were a lot hotter than the lower floors and the air conditioning was not working, so they were extremely hot as the heating has just been turned on for the winter season. Had to have window open which meant we could hear the noise from the construction work below for the metro. This went on till the early hours of the morning, so sleep was not good.

Hotel & Facilities – Nice décor. Good variety in the buffet breakfast (both local and international cuisine) but some of the hot food was cold. There is a small bar on the ground floor with a better variety of drinks and more efficient service than some of the Chinese hotels I have stayed in.

Value for money – Good

Room Tip: A lower level room will be cooler in the winter when the heating is turned on.

We stayed here for four days at the start of an organised tour. It was a nice hotel, one of the best on our tour. The room was large, clean and comfortable, with good facilities - TV, room safe (though not, as was common in China, attached to anything), kettle (also good for boiling water to clean your teeth), tea, coffee, complimentary bottled water, mini bar, dressing gown, slippers and torch. The glass wall between bathroom and bedroom was a bit of a novelty (there was a curtain!). We had a twin room and each bed was 120cm/4' wide and comfortable - some Chinese beds can be very hard - these weren't.
Our only gripe was the lighting - which was not bright enough, especially for older eyes like ours.
The restaurant, which we only used for breakfast, was good. It had an excellent selection of western food (freshly cooked eggs, cereals, fruit, bread, cakes, coffee, tea, juice) as well as Chinese food of course.
Didn't have much need to talk to other staff but when we did they were helpful. We were able to change our 100 Yuan notes into smaller denominations with no fuss. There was an ATM in the lobby too, and they usually had China Daily available there too.
There was a handy supermarket (near KFC) only 10 mins walk away.

The location was fine as we were picked up and taken everywhere by bus. It wasn't too far from the centre.

All in a all, a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: There is a busy, elevated main road on one side of the hotel. Try and get a room on the other side...

Was here with family at the start of a tour of China. The rooms were smart and spacious, as was the hotel lobby and bar area. Usefully had an ATM in the lobby in case you don't have enough cash. Staff were friendly and the food was good. Easy to get to off ringroad if you are travelling independently. Would recommend.

We stayed here at the end of our Wendy Wu 'Majestic Yangtse' trip in April and I have nothing but good things to say. The hotel is situated on the 3rd ring road and seemed as well positioned as we could hope for for getting to different places. We did get stuck in traffic several times but nothing different to what we would have to put up with here in London! They were building a metro station right next to it while we were there...not a very pretty sight from the large glass walled dining area (although watching the rush hour bicycle and rickshaw traffic jams was fascinating)...but if I went back to China independently I would probably stay there again because of the easy metro access! Our room was large, clean, and didn't smell of smoke! A big plus! There were lots of toiletries, slippers, kettle, hairdryer etc if wanted. The breakfast was good and varied and the staff very efficient. There is a smallish bar area in the entrance foyer which was well used, particularly on our last night when it became very crowded with us leaving and another party just starting their tour. A bit more seating might be nice but perhaps it's only the tour groups who make use of the bar. (As seemed to be the norm you order drinks at a little desk/lectern and then they magically appear from behind a screen! Didn't see a bar actually displaying drinks in any of our hotels.) All in all a very good, clean, welcoming hotel...and I would stay there again when the metro station is built!
