We visited the workshops and the cultural center (which also has around it the model tribal houses). The concept of providing differently abled people with skills for earning a livelihood is laudable and deserves support. We saw all workshops and the people at work - there is one workshop that also manufactures arm powered tricycles and wheelchairs! The whole place is truly remarkable. The model houses are, on the other hand, in need of maintenance and general upkeep - they have been populated with the relevant utensils, vessels and paraphernalia but without care, the huts will soon deteriorate which is too bad as the idea is good. We had looked at some souvenirs prior to coming here and this made us realize that the factory shop is a bit of a tourist trap - the prices are generally comparitively high. However, we did puchase various souvenirs, handicrafts, masks, carvings, office gifts etc from here so as to be able to extend some support to this cause.
