If you are looking for a small tented camp where instead of mass you get class Mara Siria will be the right place for you. I have been there September 2008 and again July 2010 to see the great the great Migration. The camp is beautifully situated on top of a hill overlooking the Mara river - stunning views are guaranteed. It is approx. 20 min from Kichwa Tembo airstrip and the entrance to Maasai Mara National Park. Tents are not only clean but also very nicely decorated and mantained. There are usually less then 20 guests in the entire camp which guarantees and individualized safari experience rather than a mass tourism seen in other camps. On safari we either had the camp's Landcruisers to ourselfs or were four at max. While we saw the cars of the even the more luxurious and expensive camps often packed with 8-10 people. Our drivers were usually the first "on scene" and had excellent skills in spotting animals. On both trips to the camp I saw the famous crossing of zebras/wilderbeasts which was an incredible experience. In the evening after the famous "hot bush shower" (involving staff bringing hot water in buckets) dinner is either in a small banda or in the reception tent. Usually buffet style, excellent food.
To conclude I can recommend the Mara Siria camp unconditionally to everyone who is seeking a personal, individual safari experience without wanting to miss out on comfort, excellent service and good food. My only advise bring pyjamas since it can get quite cold at night.
