We had a 3 day stay at Governors camp,it was perfect, from our amazing tent overlooking the river to the great lunchtime meals gazing at the Giraffes nibbling at the trees near the camp.As we were coming into land we spotted Giraffes,Buffalo, and Elephants. As we drove the short distance to the camp we amazed to see The Marsh Pride lions posing for us on top of a Termite hill, fantastic start to our safari. Our driver Dominic over the next 4 days found all the big 5 for us,he found 4 on the first day.The elusive Black Rhino was found on our last morning, also saw The wonderful Cheetah and Leopard again,we were very lucky. The days went too quickly, very enjoyable were the early morning starts and breakfast with Zebras and Deer all around you.The staff at Governors were all lovely and a special thank you goes to Benson who looked after us at lunch and at our evening meal.Would recommend Governors to anyone planning a trip to the Masai Mara, you will have a wonderful experience and have great memories to last you a lifetime.

We went to Governor's camp for a 3-day safari. Everything was absolutely perfect. The guides, the location, the tents and the service. They even arranged with an extra askari outside our tent since we had our 1-year son with us. If you are planning a trip to Masai Mara, please go here!

We booked this safari through WT & Safaris located in Diani and Francis Wokumu (+254 714177179), which we can warmly recommend. They gave us a very good price and made the whole trip (door to door) go very smoothly.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Governors camp and it was amazing
From arriving at Nairobi Wilson airport we were treated like VIPs. Governors aviation looked after us very we'll and when we landed at the camp the magic started from there.
We saw giraffes grazing in the distance and buffalo herds and we hadn't even got through the gate.
We received such a warm welcome from the General at the gate and then we were greeted at the reception.
The tents are out of this world, we were worried about the camping side but honestly we have never felt so safe. The accommodation was fantastic and the tea and biscuit wake up call and the hot water bottle at night was an exceptional touch. We did the hot air balloon trip which is a must well worth the money and can not be missed. The food in the camp was fantastic and we even did a bush breakfast with our driver one morning. Dominic was our driver and he was brilliant he knew where to look for the animals which we saw so much more than we expected to including The BIG 5 !!! We want to say a big thank you to all the staff for making this an experience we will never forget and we can't wait to go back

I had no clue what to expect and got a wonderful surprise. The location is beautiful, having meals under shade trees by a river with hippos moving about (do not fear, Askaris are there to protect),absolutely delicious food and very good service. And that was only the beginning.
Our tent overlooked the river, was comfortable and pleasantly appointed with a roomy bathroom with warm water and flush toilet.
The game drives were beautiful and full of surprises with a variety of wild animals and birds that I had never hoped to see, and so many situations that were theatre of the wild, one could hardly imagine. I will spare you the details. So many people have described the scenes they witnessed and I dare say, we all had different ones in front of us.
Our guide, Moses, was an excellent driver and very knowledgeable guide, who has worked as such for over 15 years.
The camp makes a very big effort to have the guests feel pampered and satisfied with the last detail and, hard to believe, but out there in the African Savannah, wi-fi was available in a special small building!
I highly recommend this camp for a wonderful experience of wildlife in the African Savannah and can't wait to have some friends from the US visit so I can take them there.

Room Tip: We stayed in a tent overlooking the river, # 15, one of many. I can't imagine there is an undesi...

Absolutely stunning, fabulous place to stay. I don’t know how anyone could rate Governors as anything other than 5*. Huge thanks to all the staff/rangers/drivers for making our honeymoon a truly unforgettable, magical experience. We would particularly like to thank the chap who stood by the gate to wish us a good day and welcome us on return. You’re brilliant at your job and your cheerfulness is much missed. It’s little touches like this that really made it special. Also special thanks to Henry for all the wake up calls and hot water bottles, our friendly waiter Moses and David the balloon guy.
We saw everything except the rhino which leaves something for next time as we’ll definitely be coming back.
Lots of Love, Ann & Matt in tent no.11 x

We stayed at the Governors Camp during early September. We followed the advice of friends who had stayed last year, and since we've been back we know more people who have booked the same trip!

The flight from Nairobi was good although the day we travelled they had enough people to fly 2 small planes together. We were welcomed at the airstrip, and from then onwards we had VIP treatment for the 3 nights that we stayed.

After welcome drinks we were shown to our tent (number 23, overlooking the grasslands). The tent was very well maintained and cleaned. We had everything we could have wanted provided. Tents have very comfortable beds, running hot & cold water all day, complimentary water & 240v power.

The safari trips were outstanding (our driver Jacob) was knowledgeable and helpful. Having the same driver for each trip was a good idea, as you are able to see different things and build a relationship.

We often saw people from other camps, but in this area of the Masi-Mara Governors & Little Governors seem to be the predominant camps, with the most vehicles & expert guides.

Food at the camp was great, with meals during the day outside and in the evening (under canvas). The chefs and waiters worked hard, and again it was nice to see the same people every day, who always had a warm greeting and after little time remembered your names & preferences.

Water, Tea & Coffee was always available and free of charge.

We saw so much in the Masi-Mara I won't even begin to list it, but we will never forget this experience & have already thought about when we will return.

I would recommend this camp to anyone wanting to go to the Masi-Mara.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are similar. Different views (grass or river) & different distance from t...

My wife and I had part of our honeymoon at Governors Camp. From the moment we got off the plane we were over whelmed with how friendly and welcoming everyone was, everything was set up so during your stay you had the most magical experience and the wildlife to be seen is truly breath taking. The accommodation and camp itself is well maintained and very clean throughout. The facilities provided are excellent considering the location, The food for all meals was very good. I cannot recommend the camp enough to everyone hence the 5 stars. My Wife and I would personally like to extend our thanks to everyone at governor's camp from the Management to the wardens who walked us to and from our tents in the evening. You all made our honeymoon full of unforgettable memories and for that we are truly grateful
