the final stay on our 6 night safari and what a way to end it!
The lodges were smaller than the other lodges we stayed in but it was claen, well equipped and well maintained. Warning there is no sound-proofing! The lodges are semi detatched and you can hear every word your neighbour is saying, when they flush the loo, and when their alarm goes off! The lodges are also overlooked by other lodges and the main path running through the complex, so privacy is not forthcoming here!
What made this place so special was the people, the location, and the entertainment laid on. The food was the best we had on Safari, the bar area was huge and full of masai dancers in the evening, there were feeding sessions in the grounds, as well as access to a Masai village. The boutique on the grounds was full to bursting with gift ideas, and the staff were very helpfull and so friendly we wanted to stay in the bar all night with our new 'friends'. Not a good idea when it's a 07:00 start the following morning!
within a few bumpy minutes of these lodges you are in the Masai Mara, the location cannot be bettered and the views from the pool area were very well photographed!
A brilliant end to an amazing safari holiday, but not my favourite of the Sopa Lodges.
