“PARADISE ON EARTH IS IN AMANI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

Most amazing place!!!! The rooms just have the WOW factor!!! Unique style and comfort. The staff are so lovely, friendly and caring..........The view from every corner of the area just does not cease to surprise you.
Unlike all other lodges you visit one is secluded from the wild, you can at times forget that you are in a national park. At Amani Mara the feeling of being in the wild is always there you take an evening walk with the Zebra's; Giraffes grazing, you can hear the hippos snorting not far away from you and finally you are blessed with the lions taking a walk in a far distance you can hear the roars .............JUST LOVED THE PLACE RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE IF YOU LOOKING FOR SHEER PARADISE

Room Tip: every room is unique with its own identity

My husband, 2 year old son and stayed at the Amani Mara in March 2011 and had a splendid time! We chose it to get away from the usual tourist traps and experience a more traditional, eco-friendly Masai Mara safari. The views from the cozy cabin and main lodge were estupendous, the food very tasty, the staff extremely friendly, the safari trips exciting and rememberable and the pool relaxing! Would whole-heartedly recommend this vacation destination!

My fiancé and I just got back from a 3 night stay, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The facilities are absolutely stunning, from the sweeping views of the dining room, luxurious "tents" with private balconies overlooking the river (with hippos), plains, and plentiful wildlife. It is brand new and basically undiscovered -- only 9 tents total, so it felt very private, and you aren't surrounded by tons of other annoying tourists. I use the term tent loosely, as they are basically large hard-walled rooms with attached bathrooms, olive woodwork, electricity, and comfortable beds.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Amazing 7-course meals, exceptional service, and staff that really went out of their way to give us an unforgettable experience. I'll never forget the (lengthy) game runs in the Land Rover with our driver Dixon. Words can't describe what it’s like driving around with an open top, surrounded by animals and scenery that you'd normally only see in a documentary like Planet Earth. The game runs are definitely the highlight, and we saw everything we hoped to see (lions, crocs, leopard, cheetah, elephant, gazelle, wildebeest, & much more).

We were originally looking at this place or the Fairmont, and chose Amani on the recommendation of our friends. I'm so glad we did! This was a once in a lifetime experience, and there's no way we'd have gotten the personal, high quality of service and accommodations anywhere else! I suspect that Amani will be booked year-round once more people discover it.

The food was amazing, and we were lucky enough to share several meals with the owner Ashif. He went out of his way to ensure that everything was perfect. I celebrated my 30th birthday there, and the entire staff came out to sing/dance in traditional Masai attire. It was obvious that they really cared about our experience and waited on us hand and foot. If we ever make it back to Kenya, we'll definitely stay there again!!

Room Tip: Sunrise gameruns are spectacular! A must-do!

Set upon one of the most beautifully located sites in the heart of the world famous maasai mara, Amani Mara boasts 9 luxury en-suite rooms each with their own private veranda overlooking the breathtaking views of the african landscape, a mixture of plains, bush, water, and lots of game.

Game drives, nature walks, balloon rides, bush breakfasts, picnic lunches..Amani mara has a lot to offer.

I've travelled around many places and stayed in many lodges, hotels and camps around Kenya but I'd have to say Amani Mara is the one place I would go back to time and time again!

From the first sight the lodge looked so natural, just blended in. The room we were given was no 6 and the view from the balcony over the Ntiak Ntiak River was beautiful. The room was spacious and the shower came out of a tree branch so looked natural.

We did a morning game drive and had breakfast in the bush and an afternoon one as well and the guide/driver was very knowledgeable about all the game.

Room Tip: The best sunraise was seen fom room 6

The architecture is stunning and is set in the most beautiful location. The service was impeccable as was the food.

I loved the shower in our room (it seemed to come out of a tree!) and the loo was positioned to overlook the river that flows by the lodge (which was also something I have never experienced before!)

We went on several game drives which were guided by Dixon who never failed to deliver on local knowledge of the animals. Our 'bush breakfast' was fantastic.

I've travelled around many places and stayed in many lodges, hotels and camps around Kenya and the world but I'd have to say Amani Mara is the one place I would go back to time and time again!
