“Excellent Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Definitely recommended for an all-around great experience. The guides and owners are great and you get an intimate feel because of the small size.

Bush camp and Enkewa both are like small oasis in the Mara, and that is saying a lot considering how beautiful the Mara is. Bush camp is surrounded by palm trees and is a short distance to a place in the Sands River where you can cliff jump near a medium-sized waterfall. Drive to some great look-outs over the Serengeti and Sands River.

Great sightings as well. I was there for only two nights and saw EVERYTHING - black rhino, leopard, lion, cheetah, etc. Absolutely beautiful!

One of my dreams was to discover Africa, to be able to see my favorite animals in the wild. During the games we run through amazing places, I discover landscapes I never thought it exist in Africa. The Enkewa people know every single stone, every single path, every animal. Their spotters are incredible, we saw all the big five including the elusive Leopard and the Rhinos. Then back to the camp, we discover the real treasure of Enkewa Mara Camp, their people !!!! I was surprised how they show me real culture of Africa. Thank you Jose and Marta for your efforts, thanks for showing me the school of Ositeti, your link with the masai community is unique and it was completely unexpected.

And of course the food was incredible, the glass of wine next to the fire every night, the relax talks . . . I´m back home . . . but still remembering the games, the sunsets, the sand river waters, ..... thank you all !!!

It was my 2nd stay at Enkewa, and again Jose and his team made us feel like at home. Game viewing was never disappointing with these guys. Tipira, his head Masai helped us find rhinos and leopard, snd nit only once. The food and commodities at camp were to the highest standard. All in all a great experience for anyone seeking a first safari vacation, and for us, a place to come back and always recommend

My Fiancee and I visited Enkewa Mara Camp in September 2013. This was our first trip to Kenya. Marta (who looks after Enkewa camp) organised everything, from our transportation, Nairobi accommodation, internal flights and of course our Masai Mara adventure.
We were met at Nairobi International Airport by our chauffeur who transported us to Eka Hotel. The Eka hotel is fantastic with restaurants are located on premises (but do not go to Spurs). After an early morning transfer we arrived at Wilson airport and boarded a small plane flying into Keekorok airfield, Masai Mara.
Stepping off the plane we were met by our Masai guides. The drive from the airport to the camp was an amazing safari in itself. We stayed three nights and witnessed the great migration, lions, cheetah, wild dogs, black rhino, elephants, hippos, hyena, giraffe and so much more.
The food at the camp was fantastic and better than most five star restaurants and the service was better than anywhere we have experienced. The Masai are beautiful people and the camp itself supports the local community. Marta, Jose and the Masai at the camp really are one big family and made us feel the same way. The accommodation is Eco-friendly and 5 star. We were woken up by elephants one night and a herd of zebra running through camp on another. We never felt scared as the Masai patrol the camp throughout the night.
Marta even orgainised a private dinner for us where I proposed to my now fiancee. We even had a bottle of champagne waiting back at our tent which made our night even more special.
Thank you Marta and Jose, we will definitely be back.
Ben and Jackie.

Room Tip: Every tent is great.

We stayed at Enkewa in August 2013. It was our second trip to see our now friends Marta, Jose and the Masais. We can once again give them an excellence in all the following: service, food, safaris, wild animals, camp fire, visit to Ositeti's school, hiking, fishing, walking, sunsets, stars, hot water bottles in bed, staff, great friends from other countries, dedication to the children, breathtaking views and relaxing moments. But what has been the new and most incredible experience in this trip was our stay at the Bush camp.
Bush camp is inside the National Reserve which means becoming part of the habitat plus the excellency in all the above. Seriously, you feel part of the wild every time you hear the sounds of the elephants passing by early in the morning or see the giraffes eating leaves from the trees surrounding the camp. If you think this is not enough to experience an amazing adventure let me tell you what has been for our twelve year old son and us, our "Indiana Jones' moment".
It was around 5 am. We were in bed. All of a sudden Jose calls out to wake us because there was a BLACK RHINO in the camp!!!!! We jumped from our beds, got our coats, boots, camera and got in the car to follow this amazing, very shy and huge animal. It is very rare to find it and even more to see it in open spaces like this. They come down very early in the mornings to eat and then run, with their short, fat legs very quickly up the hills to hide in the bushes. We manage to follow it and take great pictures in the camp and on its way to the hills. It was the last of the Big Five that we could not see in our first trip to Enkewa. This time we did not have to search for it, he came to us. This can only happen at Bush camp. And of course, why would you take my word for it? Because we manage to take the pictures of that moment thanks to Jose and the Masais who cared so well for us.
The only thing left to say is THANK YOU for such a great and unforgettable family experience.

It was my second visit to the Maasai Mara, and the experience in the Enkewa Mara camp exceeded by far all our expectations.
The camp is small, cozy and with great and personalized attention, the food is excellent and above all the possibility to go to sleep in the middle of the zebras grazing it's just something else.
The real difference of Enkewa is the privacy of the safaris. The guide and spotter were able to track and find all big five including an amazing siting of a pride of 24 lions hunting a buffalo, we also witnessed 4 different crossings and we were the only vehicle, we also went on a night safari and we swam in the sand river - Unforgettable experience.

The cultural experience was something that even though I was not expecting will remain as one of the best memories of ny at Enkewa Mara Camp.

Thanks to jose and Enkewa Family to make us feel part of that!

We had been to Enkewa with a large group last year, and when it came to choosing a safari for another visiting friend, there was simply no question we would return. The first trip was in the larger camp which was amazing in its location, set up and atmosphere. This time we were in the new smaller camp. Very intimate, the same gorgeous tents, and closer proximity to the game areas. You can't go wrong with either one. Plus the staff at both are SUPERB! The guides are exceptional in their abilities to spot the animals, and seem never to tire of working hard to make sure the clients get the best photo opportunities. We were lucky enough to see a leopard 5 minutes from the airport and it just continued to get better. By day 3 we had run out of superlatives! The entire trip was magical. Jose, Marta and team...you have succeeded in creating the best safari experience ever!!! Thank you again
