Stayed for five nights in the Lamu Palace. The location is excellent (right on the waterfront), and the hotel seems to have its own generator (very handy when there were two lengthy powercuts during our stay). My room was fitted with mosquito nets, and had air conditioning (although its location meant that the bit outside the bathroom was cool, but not the bed - but there was a ceiling fan above the bed).
Breakfast was fine (although I've been spoilt recently). Best bit was the fresh fruit and fruit juice.
I would stay at Lamu Palace again - there are smarter hotels along the coast, but this seemed to be about the best one we spotted in Lamu itself. And it has its own boat for the trip to the airstrip.
