The hotel offers a good servicec with a friendly staff. The rooms are very nice and clean. There is a good, strong and fast Wifi and is included.
The vending area is poor and should be made better.
The are is quiet an near the city.
Restaurants are nearby at the Fairview Hotel - next door.

Well designed functional rooms for working, as long as your mouse works well on a glass covered desk. Breakfast not quite as great as they claim, especially if you are dairy intolerant. Their sister hotel, the Fairview, 100 m away, provide soymilk of right first, the budget versionCountry Lodge, doesn't. Still it can be bought in in larger supermarkets in town. Well situated in Upper Hill and close enough to be able to miss the horrendous Nairobi rush hour jams by walking into central business district locations within 30-40 minutes. A couple of nice little gyms gives you a chance to keep inch reasonable shape should you choose not to do the 40 minute walk to the downtown meeting/office. There is no food available other than breakfast, but the neighbouring sister Fairview hotel, has three restaurants, and do for a reasonable range of food from most tastes. Many taxis waiting should you wish to go further afield, but take on Nairobi rush hour traffic at your peril!

I stayed here at the Country Lodge for one night after flying into Nairobi and before setting off the next morning for a week long safari in the Mara. Was ready for a safe clean place to clean up and get a good night sleep and I got it here. My room had a double sized bed with a ceiling fan over it....no A/C but really didn't need it. Bathroom was clean and with clean towels....no wash cloths. They did provide you with a bottle of water. The breakfast was very good....more that the usually continental type breakfast.

What a great hotel in a great prime location. Next to Fairview Hotel its sister hotel and next to Israeli Embassy,. Excellent security. Centrally located on Upper Hill. Nice modern rooms. Wifi available,. Very modern and luxe. Staff very helpful. Breakfast top quality. Prices very reasonable. You can also enjoy the Fairview restaurants and gardens next door. A real gem in the center of Nairobi.

Rooms very clean and modern. Beds very comfortable. Quiet location with no urban traffic or noises. Ample parking across the street and secure. No pool or gardens but if you check with Fairview staff they may allow you to use their pool.

Enjoyed their fitness center also.

I've stayed here twice. It is very secure, rooms very modern, wi-fi works great in the room, has a safe in your room, breakfast is delicious and plentiful, and the staff is very nice. There is a fitness center or you can climb the six flights of stairs. No restaurant for lunch or dinner but you can walk next door to the Fairview Hotel. Shower is always hot!

Country Lodge is located outside of the Nairobi city center in an upscale area. Security in the surrounding area is high due to the nearby presence of high profile foreign embassies and Kenyan VIPs. Outside photography is not permitted in the area.

The hotel has a modern if spartan look (white background, tubular steel, touches of blond wood). The rooms are similar. You get one small (500 ml) bottle of water a day.The beds are about the size of double bed -small for 2 American adults. Single or double rooms no triples. They do not include a top sheet as would be standard in the USA instead a puffy type comforter with a cover which is too warm in the humid climate. The rooms area adequate size. You get one bath towel, one Hand towel but no wash cloth. Hair dryer available at the front desk. There are two small "gyms" each with a treadmil, bicycle, step/stair climber, no free weights.

The rooms are not air conditioned ( I saw no visible vent in the room itself) there is a big somewhat noisy fan in the room - not sure about the lobby.

The breakfast includes coffee, tea, juices, pieces of fruit, processed meat/cheese, cereal, one type of yogurt, breads, pasteries and eggs cooked to order. Water is not included.
Vending machine sells water and a few snacks (was half empty). The vending machine only takes Kenyan coins and you need a lot of them.

Nearby Fairview Hotel has restaurants for lunch and dinner it is about 200 ft down the street.

If you are going to the three most commonly visited tourist attractions Karen Bixby House, Giraffe center and Sheldrige Elephant Orphange this is a good jumping off point outside the worst of Nairobi's notorious traffic.

This area is safe as are the routes to the common attractions. One could drive oneself if very good with directions and with the aggressive nature of Kenyan driving. However, most travellers will be better off with a driver.

Would stay here again no problem.

Room Tip: If a group get all rooms on the same floor because room key is floor specific.

Country Lodge has got a good package for business stays in Nairobi, Everything works well, staff are friendly and on the ball.
It doesnt have lunch/dinner menu but you can use the co-owned fairview next door (would be a real good move if you could charge from Fairview to your CL room tab but afraid you cant do that).

Rooms are elegantly simple, pleasing and all the important things are there - a kettle and plenty of sockets, including a mix of UK nad continental sockets by the desk.
