I recently spent three separate one-night stays at the Country Lodge and was very happy with the accomodations. The rooms and decor are basic, with clean lines and blond wood. The showers are excellent with hot water and plentiful pressure. My rooms were all on courtyard side so it was quiet even with the windows wide open for ventilation. Cleanliness is excellent. The breakfast is plentiful and served in a very nice dining area. Having the Fairview's restaurants right next door is very convenient. Service was kind, though perhaps not as outgoing as it could be. Returning for my second and third stays I was offered a warm welcome back, however. And I was thoroughly surprised on my third stay, which happened to be my birthday, to be presented with cake and a card. This was a very unexpected and thoughtful touch and really made my day.

Modern, clean, comfortable hotel. No air con so if you are travelling in the summer, might be a little uncomfortable but perfect for travelling in August. While not as cheap as it once was, well priced by Nairobi standards and neighbouring Fairview hotel provides good eateries for lunch and dinner.

The stay was a stop over for safari.

Nice air flow, I was there after the rainy season, and it was a cooler season, probably gets too hot during summer with no air conditioning.

Location: The location seemed to be okay, however it was near government offices and a prison was down the road I believe. Because of this security was very tight and you always felt safe and taken cafe of. You were always checked up on to make sure everything was alright.

Breakfast: There was a lot of fruit to choose from, omelet options, cereal, yogurt, bacon, and many choices to start the day off well. This was the only meal included in the price of the hotel but you could always walk to the other hotels nearby for lunch/dinner which were very close and security was tight there also.

Rooms: Our room was clean, rubbish emptied every day, beds made, and was kept clean without any problems. There was a reliable safe and the room temperature was comfortable. We did use the fan on the ceiling often and that cooled us down if we were too hot.

There was reliable and reasonable internet and the hotel staff was very helpful in setting up a taxi service for us for the day to get to various attractions we wanted to do, and they were always looking out for us to help us however they can.
