“Affordable and comfortable place to stay for a night in transit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for one night as a stopover on our trip back to Kampala from Moshi via Nairobi. We booked through Expedia and the booking went through smoothly to the hotel so they were expecting us.
The staff were attentive and helpful. Our room smelled of smoke from someone smoking in a neighboring room so we asked to change rooms. A staff member showed us another room, which also smelled of smoke as smoking is allowed in rooms and there don't seem to be any designated non-smoking rooms. When we went to move our belongings from the original room we found the smoke smell had gone so we decided to stay. The staff member said he would request the neighbour not to smoke in his room, which we thought was a generous offer since people technically have the right to smoke in their rooms. We didn't have any more smoke smells.
Bathrooms are indeed tiny as others have said, but manageable. Shower was good and toilet. Plumbing in toilet and sink needed a bit of maintenance, which we reported to the front desk.
Bed was comfortable although the pillows were quite flat so I folded mine in half.
Pity there are no fly screens on the windows as we would have liked to open a window to let some cool air in.
We were very thankful for the fact that the restaurant is open 24 hours because it meant we could have a late dinner after arriving in Nairobi and sorting out our onward bus tickets for the next day, and also have a very early breakfast cooked fresh and get a packed lunch to take on the bus.
We didn't find it noisy, perhaps because it was Boxing Day and that area of the city was very quiet.
Others have mentioned the security doors being a bit annoying - you just have to factor a little extra time into getting in and out of the building. It wasn't too bad. The lift was very slow, though!
Over all we found it entirely adequate for a brief overnight transit stop in Nairobi. I think it would have been ok for another night or two if necessary also.

“Nice hotel in center of Nairobi with free Wi-Fi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Hotel is located in center of Nairobi. Has small but clean rooms (although, the second time I was there I noticed some marks on the sheets.. never the less generally it was OK). The thing I like the most about this hotel is his location (and a free Wi-Fi - for messages, mails and stuff like that..). So during the day (evenings..) you can just listen all the sounds from the street.. feeling a bit of atmosphere there..

My room didn't have TV, I don't know if maybee others did. Nets are hanging over the bed - I had some problems of 'connecting' them all .. and not to leave any small holes that mosquitos could use.

Another thing that you could find usefull is that the store "Nakumatt" is right behind the corner to buy water or some food or stuff like that.

Hotel staff was nice and helpfull.

“you get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

Its on the cheaper side and so don't expect great service or facilities. Reception staff are not friendly and the rooms are very basic. However the hotel is ok for a transit stopover when you are on a budget. Its location near the shuttle buses that go to Arusha, Tanzania is a bonus as is the fact that its in the centre of Nairobi. There are a few western type pizzza and fried chicken restaurants within a very short walking distance which also helps.

Room Tip: try and ask for a room off the main road side as it will be quieter

“Great location for downtown.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The hotel is great for budget travel, great location right downtown, not do far from Nairobi's night life and easy to access from the airport. Breakfast is OK, service is OK, yet try to avoid the bar at evenings if you want to avoid women (and men) looking for trading company for money... A bit expensive for the value, but still I'll recommend it.
