“An all round view of Nairobi and the Rift valley”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes drive to Ngong hills from Nairobi CBD.Take a guided hike or a group hike. One can use some local Maasai to guide you through the hills though this is done at ones risk.Local tour companies can give detailed info.A place to go and have nice picnics, do hill climbing, team building activities, take breath taking photos, watch the sun set or just take a quiet day away.Just pack enough water and rations and make sure you have comfortable shoes.

“What an Amazing Scene and View...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Recently took a trip to Ngong Hills. First you need to go to Kenya Forestry Services and pay for 2 guides which costs 3000ksh. And then you should drive to the gate. Do not recommend you to start walking cause you will not have any energy left for the real thing! At the gate you need to pay entrance fee which changes depending on your status. If you are resident you pay only 200ksh. Then we started walking thought this is it! Until we came to the tower on top where the guides told us it is a starting point! From there afterwords it gets really steep and challenging! There are total of 7 hills. One is harder than other! On your right you have beautiful forestry and right you can see up to Rift Valley through Lake Naivasha if the weather allowed. I was only able to walked through first two hills. If you want to go walk though at least 3-4 hills you should definitely start at the top. Second hill that we took was very steep and going down was very challenging. When we return we were able to take side way among the big bushes and trees. The guides are armed and dont let you be far from them which is understandable. We have been told there are wild cats, buffalos, monkeys in the forest but we were not lucky enough....Every few minutes you look around

“Love the view - and a good work out too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

I love coming here, the views are spectacular, and it is always a good workout as there are lots of hills you have to walk up and down. On a sunday there are often a lot of Christian groups praying up here, so I tend to avoid walking my dog then, but for the rest of the week it is a pretty great place to come to clear my head.
