“Mixed impressions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We stayed here for one night on our way home. The hotel is very central, close to the municipal market, which has nice souvenirs. Breakfast is not bad and there is wifi. Moreover, the staff are friendly. However, the hotel is currently being renovated from top to bottom. It's needed but as a result it is noisy and not very pleasant. The pool on the roof is nothing like what is shown on the hotel's website, though maybe after the renovation it will look better. Our rooms were quite spacious, more like little suites, but rather run down.

Hotel in under renovation. Moderate Hotel. Resturant is good though the breakfast is average. Staffs are helpful. Renovated Rooms are good. Toilets are clumsy. Corridors, swmming pools are in very bad shape now. Free wi-fi available. Rooms are having a/c, falt TV, Friedge, Tea making facilities, phone etc. Overall good value of money.

Room Tip: Choose your Rooms after seeing those.

This hotel was misrepresented to us on their website. It is under renovation and the newly restored rooms are quite nice. No air conditioning however and the street was very busy. It was not for women traveling alone. And we had two small girls with us. it is fine for businessman but I didn't think the level of security for Nairobi was sufficient. It was touted as a safe part of town and we didn't think that was true either. The restaurant did not look appealing and we would have had to walk through an unsafe part of town to find restaurants. As I said, it would be fine for businessmen. They did have security checks in the evenings but not during the day.

The hotel is centrally located making it easy to explore around. Food is great and staff are very polite and helpful. I enjoyed my brief stay at the Meridian.

I intend to go back to Kenya and will definitely stay there and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is undergoing renovation. So it will be better for them to close the hotel for a period of time. When you arrive late in the night it's like a nightmare. After the first night I cancelled. The noise is terrible. It like sleeping in the lobby or outside a Saturday night.

Room Tip: Wait for the end of renovation

This is safe hotel to stay if you are looking at USD 100 as budget. This hotel is undergoing rennovation. They have some rooms that are really very very bad to stay. Receptist will tell you that only two rooms are available and will offer you bad room. But dont agree to it.

Please ask for new rooms on 4th floor facing road or on right side of the lift while coming up.. They are good one to stay. You can take confirmation on the room being allotted in advance.

Break fast is too good and overall an excellent place to stay.

Just go for it. Need not read to many reviews . They will confuse.
Good for business and family stay

and very important is its SAFE !!!

Negativce of this hotel is
- You will hear lot of sound if plan to be in room in day time

Room Tip: New rooms on 4th floor are good to stay

In nairobi I was desperate for a hotel and this was the only choice. They took $150. Which is the same price as sarova pan Afric. They had a friendly staff but the owner was quite mean. The rooms were good and the bathroom was clean. Yet the beads were very hard. It is a minutes walk from Kenyatta avenue and at a good location. Al though my room was not dreary. If you walked out of the room, the atrium and the hallway was quite dreary and cold. I would really not suggest this place

Room Tip: Go somewhere else
