We first visited this restaurant about eighteen months ago and we loved it, the diner buffet was excellent. However, our second visit brought an unpleasant surprise because the food was not at all what we have remembered. Buffet diner was 2300 KES per person. The salads did not taste fresh at all - there were many of them, but most tasted as if they were made of (some) stale ingredients. The chicken soup was terrible and bitter, maybe it was not a chicken soup at all and the pot was just mislabelled... There was a modest choice of bread, great variety of dressings and an excellent choice of very tasty main dishes. Tilapia was exquisite, and kingfish was not bad either. Other dishes available included beef, pork, potatoes (very good), spinach, carrots (for vegetarians), ugali, spaghetti, and some Indian dishes. As for deserts, there were many, the all looked delicious, but they tasted like hell - totally unremarkable and uninteresting. The best option for me was a very modest selection of cheeses, as I did not tried fruits, but my husband was not happy with the watermelon they offered (besides papaya, melon and pineapple). Buffet included coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Herbal tea was just terrible, one of the worst tastes I felt over the years. They also have a la carte. Wifi not available for those who are not hotel guests (you have to pay for it). The restaurant is placed very close to Nairobi Hospital. It is located next to the hotel pool (Haven Bar and Amigo Coffee Shop are also there). The interior was nothing special and the staff were unbelievably quick to get us bill - we were in the middle of our main course when they brought it... All in all, this was not really a remarkable meal out and we will most probably not be coming again.
