“What a remarkable lunch and food spread!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

I had the pleasure of eating here on my last day in Kenya and was surpassed at how delicious it was. The cafe is tucked away in a relaxing environment, albeit right off a busy road in Karen, and is someplace I would've enjoyed bringing my computer and working for the day. I had a chicken pesto sandwich which was good, but my friend had the mushroom quiche which was out of this world! And the salad offerings are incredible. So many different items to choose from and all of them were delicious. The carrot cake I had for dessert was also fantastic and very moist.
I also got to meet the owners and the chef and they were lovely. Very hospitable and great to be around.
The only negative things I would have to say (I had to really dig deep to find these) were that the cafe is quite small and there isn't a lot of space to sit, and they don't take credit cards. Other than that the place is fantastic. Try to go there if you have the opportunity.

“Far from the madding crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

A delightful cafe, with charming attentive staff, serving freshly cooked food with tasty salads and original fruit drinks. Everything served attractively even down to the coffees.

Eggs cooked to perfection at breakfast. Quiches my favourite for lunch.

On my next visit to Karen, or nearby, this is where I'll head.

Also wonderful boutique shops to browse through and buy from.

“A Fine Place for a Light Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

I enjoyed eating here in the garden. The mushroom quiche, crepe, and salad were all excellent, Everything was very fresh. the service was prompt and friendly. However,I have to agree that the menu was quite limited. The prices were reasonable, but not cheap. I was delighted to see all the road construction going on in Langata.

“Oasis of Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

If you are looking for a little relaxation and some good food tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Kenyan life, this is the place to go. Need to check up on those Emails over a coffee or a tasty lunch, pop in and use the free Internet connection even when there is a power cut!

The Tin Roof Cafe has been transformed and you can wander into the little shops in The Souk while you are there to pick up that small gift you forgot.

I really did enjoy this place.

“Very small menu but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

This small cafe with outdoor seating is charming and the food is good - it feels healthy and homemade. Would definitely recommend it for lunch although the options really are very limited.
