Went to the restaurant for lunch during NRW2014. I was impressed by the way we were received at the entrance by the staff with lovely warm smiles.
We were seated quite quickly, we had had gone a bit early. Unfortunate their veggie option was not available so one of us had to order from the other menu.
Drinks order was taken immediately as we browsed the menu, 1st round went well however the waitress mixed up the drinks second time round.
Starters had pork belly, was a tad over crisp, the beetroot and wasabi raisins was okay.
For main we had Fried Tilapia served with Sukuma purée, kachumbari & crispy arrowroots, which I found a tad bland but I enjoyed the grilled chicken breast with aioli, humus and French fries.
The mango tart dessert was quite nice but the cucumber and mint sorbet left a lot to be desired, the vodka didn't make it any better.
We managed to take a walk around the property and the grounds are quite expansive and provide for alfresco dining with gazebo seating in the lawn. I'd definitely go back and also recommend the restaurant to anyone. Washrooms are very clean, the bar is well stocked.
Lovely place. Keep it up
