“Nairobi Aboretum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This is a wonderful place for a morning or evening work . Groups and families also use it as a picnic site owing to the peaceful environment and clean air. nature lovers also visit the Aboretum to learn about trees and appreciate the conservation work in the only forested part near the city centre of Nairobi.

Go on Sunday morning, you wil see a lot of born again sects praying under the trees, families having fun: it is a green spot in Nairobi

“Beautiful pocket of green in a busy city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

While the facilities could do with a lot of TLC (especially the toilets!!!), the feel of the place is very peaceful, relaxing and serene, which is wonderful for being so close to the heart of Nairobi. There is no entry fee, and it attract all kinds of people, which makes it an interesting place to see a slice of Nairobi's culture. Lots of religious groups and prayer meetings, team-building exercises and other groups. But lots of quiet corners for a picnic too or stroll away from the action. We live in Nairobi and go there regularly!

“Disgusting state of abbandon... This is a neglected & solitary jewel in the heart of Nairobi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

What a shame that such a beautiful, naturalistically rich & landscaped museum of trees, interwinding paths and open lawns hasn't been at least looked after as was intended by their creators. There are so few parks in Nairobi that Arboretum deserves alot more from the long list of apparent sponsors 'proudly' displayed at the entrance - I hope that they look after their various hotels, multi-national companies etc a little better than this - it's quite shameful. The beautiful stream or river has even been complemented with the construction of illegal concrete walls up to it's edges and no competent ente appears to be enforcing the law. However, should you want an apartment or perhaps a house the market is completely that you haven't a safe, clean park to take your children to play and enjoy the clement Nairobi weather. I hope this is not the shape of things to come...?!

“Love the place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Great trees and shrubbery, but also a place for groups to gather for religious or social purposes and for athletes to train. I visited regularly when I was in Nairobi, it's a short jog from the city centre.
