Today's lunch wasn't great like the other days, maybe you can improve in it by working extremely hard. But keep it up though I love your services and your employees are great. will definitely come there again and again and again.

I stayed in a cottage. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The views are mind blowing. They have a wonderful golf course and a walking trail with nature all around.Their breakfast is good. The only negative side was that the weather was cold and the cottage was too. No provisions for heating. Except for that it is fantastic!

Impressive suroundings, golf course and country manner style/colonial style hotel. The one buffet meal we had at the restaurant was decent. The best thing about the room is the shower which is strong and full. The rest of the room is outdated. My curtains were disgusting, seemed very old and dirty and had a big black animal poo stain on them. I highlighted this to the service staff and they said they would clean it. Great to be able to go for a run around the golf course. Overall a pleasant and peaceful stay and would possibly consider returning.

Dear HouseoftheFrogs,

Thank you for taking time to review our resort.

Just that all our guests may know, we have standards by which our staff adhere to before every check-in to ensure the room is in perfect status by the time our guests arrive.

We are glad you enjoyed the outdoor experience knowing that no hotel in Nairobi has expansive grounds as we do. With a 5km jogging track, one is guaranteed to break a sweat.

Looking forward to your next visit

Looks are deceiving, this is a relatively modern establishment built in colonial style. Visiting again after a couple of years absence I thought and hoped it may have improved. Not a chance.
Hotel empty apart from a few guests during the week, aside from local visitors for the golf or hotel facilities it was pretty much empty. Given the lack of customers it would make sense that the staff on hand took more interest in their clients wellbeing. Again it seems not, waiting 45 minutes in an empty restaurant to be served dinner is annoying, then waiting for the staff to actually return to your table to see if you require anything else or get the bill needs you to go hunting for them.
The main rooms are still without any airconditioning, a single pedestal fan is your very noisy option for room cooling aside from having an open window and providing a feast for the ever present mosquitos from the surrounding area.
The electrical points in the rooms are often overloaded with plugs for minibar (unstocked), fan, TV, desklight (dangerous loose wiring).
Some days you may get a paper delivered, others not. Either someone else helping themselves or they don't arrive. Small things such as missing plug from sink basin are an annoyance as well as electronic in room safes that will go into lock down due to a lack of servicing.
Food is hit and miss, some days and dishes good, others apalling. Again time to served on average around 45 minutes from ordering, the menu upstairs in canteen bar more extensive than that downstairs in main restaurant despite all coming from one central kitchen.
The pool looks good if under used during the week, very popular with local families at the weekend. Can't comment on golfing facilities other than they look good and appear well kept.

Dear GreboGuru,

Thank you for reviewing the resort.

We have taken into consideration your comments and we are sure to resolve them as not all our guests have had such an experience in service delivery.

The Windsor is close to what it claims to be. It's certainly situated on superb scenery in a quiet residential upscale suburb of Nairobi. The architecture of the main biulding is beautiful and the green background of the golf course (I'm not a golfer, so cannot comment on rank) is simply breathtaking.
The breakfast was good, though the selection was not very wide.
The fitness facilities are very well maintained and have professional attendants/trainers to make your calorie burning safer and more efficient.
The general location might be a pro as well as a con. Depends on the purpose of visit. If it's golf - look no further! On the other hand if you have business in the city, be prepared to a lenghty, up to 1.5 hour drive to get to city center.
The main con for me was the fact that the rooms, though very clean, need an urgent update to stand up to the claim it's a 5 * hotel. No air con, no bug nets on windows, outdated bathrooms (separate taps for hot/cold water ??? what is this - a 19 th century european hotel?), an outdated TV lacking modern connection ports and a very small selection of broadcasting stations.

Room Tip: Wait for the rooms to be renovated and updated to current hospitality standards one might expect fro...

Stayed here several days with friends for golf and a game drive. The golf course was excellent and very enjoyable. The monkeys everywhere made it most interesting. Plus, the black kites that were dive bombing the buffet line was a hoot!!!

I would give it an excellent rating, but these things prevented it. The rooms need to be up-dated with a/c and enough outlets for serve everything. I had to make a choice between the use of the fan or the mini-fridge. If you opened the windows to cool the room down, it was soon filled with bugs. One lamp had a different plug that only worked in one outlet.

I was a bit surprised that the amount of taxes placed on everything. VAT, service charge, catering levy, training levy, etc. That usually amounted to 25%+ to any bill.

Room Tip: Avoid any time that the resort is filled for a convention or the like. I think the small cottages wo...

Dear Oldtravelinggolfer,

Thank you for taking time to review our hotel,

We are currently putting up two new conference rooms and as soon as this phase is done we will commence renovating our accommodation rooms. The new rooms will eliminate all the concerns you have raised.

Just for information, all rooms have an odourless easy to use mosquito repellant which we can greatly improve your night at the Windsor.

My office is open to all, please let me know the next time you come.

I've visited the Windsor Golf Club twice now for meetings and conferences. It's a beautiful place inside and out in the lush Ridgeways suburb of Nairobi. I'm not a golfer and have little interest in the sport, but watching people pottering around the course against a beautiful wildlife-friendly backdrop was very relaxing. The food's good, the service is reasonable, I guess you pay for what you get. The interiors still have a colonial feel to them and the Oak Room is great conference venue. I haven't stayed in the hotel, so I can't comment on it.
