On the plus side, this place is really close to the UN and everything in Gigiri - about 20mins walk, in fact. The staff are very friendly indeed and always willing to help.
However, the owner needs to put more of an effort into investing in the place. They promise cable TV, which is really not true ... there is ONE cable outlet for the whole place, so in other words if you want to watch TV in your room you need to be sure the channel in the main lounge is the one you want, and that no one else is going to change it meantime (the TVs in the room are like museum pieces anyway - so I basically gave up on the TV watching). The washing machine was broken while I was there, so linen was being handwashed, which is just unnecessary in this day and age, not to mention possibly unhygienic for a hotel establishment. Again, the owner could easily see to that. Then there were little things - the abysmal water pressure of the shower, the bathroom curtain held up by clothes pegs - all things which could easily be fixed with a bit of effort.
Luckily there were not too many other guests while I was there, but on a couple of nights there was someone in the room next to mine and I realised that noise also travels quite badly between the rooms!
In all, its in a good location, but it could be so much better with a little effort.
