“Still a good option, breakfast could be improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

We stayed here for the second time. Prices are relatively high given the small size of the rooms but hotel accommodation seems to be overpriced in Nairobi in general. Service is very good, rooms are clean and well appointed. The superior rooms are tiny and although the deluxe rooms offer slightly more space, rooms still tend to be quite small. Large windows though and since the hotel has only been opened about a year ago all is still in quite good order. Airport pickup is reasonably priced at US$ 30 and reliable.

Two things could be improved: the breakfast quality used to much better a year ago. Selection and quality of the food was a let down this time around. If you pay US$ 180 a night you wold definitely expect something a little more sophisticated. Shower gel and shampoo provided is the cheapest stuff from the whole sale factory. Again: we don't expect L'Oreal shampoo but just something simple and decent.

Room Tip: Do not choose a room too high, let's say above 4th floor, since the rooftop club can get quite l...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us and for taking your time thereafter to post your review online.
We value comments from all our guests whether positive or negative.

Even though you find our room rates high I assure you they are very competitive and pocket friendly. I careful research in Nairobi would confirm this and you would still prefer to stay with us.

Even though we are relatively new we have ensured that the hotel is very well maintained so that it keeps on sparkling even years to come.

We have noted your comment on the breakfast quality and selection. Even though many of our guests like it, we are in the process of changing this and we are sure by the time you visit us again you will notice the changes.

Noted too is your comment on the shower gel as well as the shampoo. We promise to work on this to ensure you enjoy more in the shower in your next visit.

Thank you and please stay with us again in future.

Kind regards,

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as a stopover to my destination and I have to say the service is absolutely brilliant! Cannot fault this hotel in any way. The rooms were clean, quiet and of good size. The breakfast and dinner in Pablos is tasty and really large portions!

I spoke with the manager Samson prior to booking my room and he was absolutely delightful! He has customer satisfaction down to a T! He provides a very personal service which I have not experienced in 5* hotels and he made sure my stay was very comfortable!

I travel a lot for business and have stayed in many hotels in Nairobi. This was by far the best. Staff were excellent (especially the concierge Lazarus) and nothing was too much trouble. Food was good (order extra vegetables as they are excellent) & the gym was great. Roof top terrace is worth a visit but all in all the best hotel experience in Kenya. Clean, new & ultra friendly staff. I will not stay anywhere else in the future when working there.

'Mezze on the Deck' is the other dining option at this Hotel. Spectacular location on the rooftop by the pool with breathtaking views over Nairobi, the setting is trendy, relaxed and stylish, friendly good service and appealing menu with a good Lebanese Mezze selection. We tried Kebab Halaby (minced lamb) and Lebanesse Grilled Chicken - both tasty and nicely presented - accompanied by a perfectly acceptable red house wine by the glass(es!). We can definitely recommend this venue for its atmosphere, nice food and unbeatable setting- a perfect meeting place for both hotel guests and non-residents.

Dear Cornelia,

We are delighted you visited our "Mezze on the Deck" restaurant at our roof top. Not a doubt, the views from that vantage point make you realize what a beautiful city we have in Nairobi!

Yes, our rooftop restaurant specializes in Lebanese Cuisine. We noted that you tried the Kebab Halaby and the Lebanese Grilled Chicken. When you visit again please try more of the dishes on offer. In a couple of days time it will have a roof over it and will be even cozier. This is in line with our continued efforts to improve our property and services.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the online world and please do visit again.

The taxi pickup from airport was overcharged. The rates were not communicated to the driver from the reception. We are not happy with the way it went. We dont prefer to stay in this hotel in the future.
