“First stay in Nairobi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

I stayed here in second week of March 2014 for one week. The hotel is well located, walking distance from Yaya mall which was an advantage. Break fast was included and was okay, but the menu was same for all 8 days of my stay, so I was fed up and last 3 days ate sparsely. Hotel is bit pricey ($190 per room night) but I think most Hotels in Nairobi are so. Because before booking this hotel I searched a lot on internet. Anyway I booked this hotel as Best Western is a known brand. Hotel is quite clean and modern with all amenities. Staff was very courteous and polite. Overall it was a good experience.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience with the online world.
We have noted your comment on our breakfast and more so when one is staying long.
This has been communicated to our Executive Chef for immediate action.

Our room rates are very competitive and lower than that of most hotels of the same quality in Nairobi. Our major focus is offering real value for money to all our guests. A major percentage return because of this.

We shall pass your compliments to our members of staff. We also welcome you back to enjoy our unrivalled hospitality.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Management

Stayed in both 101 and 202 and both rooms are modern and well-equiped with large windows on two sides. Would be great to have a two pin plud socket in room but one is available in the bathroom. Pablo's restaurant has great range of dishes though the wines are very pricey for lower end SA wines. A great recently built hotel that should suit business travellers.

Dear Dr. Seenivasan,

We thank you for staying with us this past week as well as posting your review online. We value all reviews whether positive or negative as they all help us build a positive character for our property.

As you have indicated you reported the case to one of our members of staff as you were checking out of the hotel. You informed him that you were not very sure where you could have lost the money, that is, whether it was in the taxi as you were coming into the hotel or during your stay.

Guest property is very well secured in our hotel. To bolster this we also provide, in each guest rooms, a digital safe for storage of valuables. We would also like to assure you that our selection process is thorough and intensive background checks are done among our rank and file.
Reports of money, among other valuables, being picked from shirts in our laundry getting back to the owners as well as guests being alerted of items left behind upon departure are the order of the day at this property.

Access into all our room floors is very much controlled and monitored . No unauthorized personnel can acess a guest room undetected.

Your case has been given the seriousness it deserves and investigations have also roped in the taxis you hired to and from the hotel on a daily basis during your stay. A private mail was also sent to your private address in this regard.

We regret this loss and will revert to you in a day or two. We are sure we shall have this brought to a positive conclusion. This is the first reported cash loss in the hotel and we see no threat to guest property until our investigations are complete.

You too are invited to stay with us again without any fear of any loss of any kind.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Management.

Was in Nairobi on a business trip and stayed at this establishment. Very clean and on my floor I had no disturbances what so ever. Great proximity to the city center and good food were a definite plus.
On the last day I forgot my external hard disk and a scarf. The housekeeping staff worked hard to get it to me and the General Manager personally reached out to me to ensure that I got my items mailed to me in my home country. So happy with the customer service as I thought I had lost my kids' baby pictures forever. I would definitely go back.
Only negative would be the hot and cold water variations when shoeri

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

We spent couple of nights at Best Western Nairobi during February 2014 between our safari tours and beach holidays. We choose this hotel due to the closeness to the city center and guaranteed quality and the hotel met our expectations.

The hotel is situated outside the main city center – which keeps you away from the city noise but it’s still close to get there quickly. The hotel has also a nice view from the rooftop. There is a swimming pool situated and you may spent lazy afternoon with some local beer or some fancy drink in the hand during taking a rest.

The rooms were very nice, cozy and clean. The service was very helpful, always nice and well organized. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty and there were always a place to sit with no need to wait for a table. The other good thing is that the hotel had Wi-Fi in all guest rooms included in the price what is not so common in Nairobi.

Just two disadvantages occurred during our stay. One thing was the huge noise of some machines outside the room/building which could be heard on all 6th floor where we spent one of the night. We assumed that there could be the air-condition fans or some cooling system from the kitchen situated one floor above. We asked the personnel to check whether something could be done with it, but nobody could help us. The second thing was a loud music coming from the bar during the other night, but we were so exhausted after the safari that nothing could keep us from sleeping. The music stopped some after midnight.

Despite that I really recommend this hotel during your stay in Nairobi. This is really pleasant relax after energy consuming safaris!

Room Tip: Try to avoid sleeping at 6th floor because of the noise (mentioned in my review).

Dear Lady Agata,

Thanks for your online review about your stay with us. We appreciate the compliments and will share them with our members of staff.

The loud music from the roof top was stopped immmediately and appropriate action taken to ensure a repeat does not occur. Ever since we have not had a problem with the music.

The noise from the 6th floor was from the gym. Corrective action is being taken to ensure this is muked to guarantee good sleep.

We look forward to welcoming you to stay with us again in future.

Thank you.
