“just snack on”

Go for Kilifi (raw) and Mambrui (gratineed) oysters. And, the spare ribs. Good offers of South African wines.

“Good food, great dawah”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

A good option in Nairobi for good food. Avoid the salads and veggie dishes - this is kenya. All the meat and fish dishes were very good, on a number of occasions. And its not crazy expensive. The Mall in Westands looks like dodgy area but its OK. Get the Dawah cocktail - mmm. Is paet of the Tamarind chain I believe, they have a number of good restaurants in Kenya.

“Wonderful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

Tamambo Bar and grill has the best food I have tasted in a while. Dining there is wonderful, the lighting is perfectly muted, attentive service and fresh food. The butternut soup with coconut cream is delicious as is their chicken in tamarind sauce.
The portions are big enough, from the soups to the main courses and the prices are reasonable due to the generous portions which were so filling we were unable to have dessert.

It is worth a visit for a scrumptious relaxed dinner experience!

“Wonderful location, good service, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2012

Hugely varied menu ensuring that even the most choosy will find something to tempt the palate! Sunday lunchtimes offer the traditional Kenyan option, a curry buffet - the range is staggering and the quality good. Set in lovely grounds. During high season remember to book a table to avoid dissappointment.

“A fun place for drinks and appetizers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

We loved coming here for their drinks (Dawas - which means "medicine" in Swahili) and live music. They also offered hookah from a hookah shop nearby. Additionally their spinach and camembert samosas are AMAZING! I came time after time for those and a cocktail. It's a good stop if you are waiting for a movie or wanting to chill out. The one time I had dinner here I was not that impressed with their offerings for main dishes.
