When Rusty closed it's doors, it was a sad day, but now we have Purdy Arms in it's place. Similar laid back atmosphere, good menu, and a lovely patio to sit on. I have just one gripe though - we ordered a starter which never materialised, and when we asked about it, the staff looked at us as if we were asking for gold bars. Never mind - it didn't appear on the bill either! They did seem a little stretched that day, weekend lunchtime too...
Beautiful extensive gardens, which they could perhaps use a little better, but then it is early days....

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. It's interesting that you compare us with the Rusty Nail as one of the owners of the Purdy Arms worked there for a time, and a laid back atmosphere with a good menu is certainly what we are aiming for.

Many apologies with regards to the starter not arriving, and we have discussed your issues with the staff to try and make sure that it doesn't happen again. If you have any problems in the future please just ask for Jules, Kat or Grace one of which should always be on duty to help.
We agree with you on utilising the grounds and will hopefully have more seating in place in the near future.
Thanks again for the feedback, and we hope to welcome you back soon.
