Nairobi is one of the few cities of the world where you get big city stuff shoulder to shoulder with space - real African space. The Purdy Arms is 20-acres of glorious garden space in Nairobi. With the closing of the very popular Rusty Nail in 2012, there was a big gap in the market for good food in a lovely outside setting and The Purdy Arms has nipped in and cornered this market perfectly. The indoor sports bar is also proving very popular and is packed on big game nights - especially rugby. The food is a simple but good with a quirky twist which keeps it interesting. The red snapper with lime I had when last there was perfectly cooked and delicious, the chocolate roulade fantastic and others on the table raved about the beach prawns. We have had supper inside and while it was fine, it is the outside terrace that really makes it and I would highly recommend the Purdy as the nicest place to have a relaxing, long outdoor lunch in Nairobi.
