“Perfect place for relaxing with the kids.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Having kids is a blessing, however when it comes to weekend entertainment one tends to agonize where to go especially if you daughter loves jumping castles like mine(she calls it "jump, jump")so this past Sunday after church,my sister and I decided to try a different location, away from the crowded scenes,we visited Kisima House and what a breath of fresh air!The kids were well engrossed with the activities that are available, swimming in a clear, clean pool, meet new friends, and at the jumping castle throw in a few overhead jumps..The food is fresh, tasty and surprisingly affordable,i was able to relax and sip in the sun without the worry of my daughter disappearing in a mass of children, would definitely recommend it for anyone one who wants to experience some relaxing, amazing time away from all the bustle of the usual crowds...

I've had the privilege of using both state of the art boardrooms and i must say they create the executive feel. i would recommend Kisima Hse anytime for board meetings, workshops & product launches . compliments to the chef & other staff for their creativity. looking for quietness and some 'me' time? look no further. how could i forget the noisy neighbors (birds) who wake you up with their sweet melodies every morning.

The food is excellent and the service staff very courteous. Kisima House is the place to go when you need a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle. Had a really nice time with my family, we are definitely going back again.

Returning recently from the Seychelles I stopped over in Nairobi to catch up with pending work AND the need to take myself out of the hustle and bustle of every day life, which is ever present when I stay in my 'regular' hotels in Kenya's capital.
Kisima House in Karen looked a good choice, located outside the city centre in the woodlands of Karen, providing fresh air, birdcalls during the day and the calls of the cockerels in the wee hours of the night, a sign how close to nature one is there. Turned from a once private residence into a little hotel, it presently offers just 5 rooms, more are planned on the 7.5 acre property, and hence proved to be an oasis of peace, ideal to meet my getaway objectives.
The size, or lack of it rather, provided for a homely atmosphere, with the staff bending over backwards to be at my beck and call, and on my first night they rushed to bring me cold milk instead of creamer, to be able to brew myself some decent tea as and when I needed it.
My room was large and contained all I needed and the balcony allowed some sitting outside while working during the day. Wireless internet is of course available and part of the package.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Kisima House is an a la carte` affair and served fast, either indoors or outdoors around the pool area, where in particular lunch and dinner - the latter by candle light - makes for a good al fresco experience. Being one of only a few guests, I did my usual 'deal' with the chef who was delighted to talk food, and ordered my lunch at the end of breakfast and my dinner at the end of lunch, time set and to no surprise ready as ordered at the hour it was supposed to be served. Kisima House has a menu, of course, but I found the chef took delight to go way beyond the call of duty and conjure up some specials for me, a sign how guests are appreciated at this little gem.
The owners told me of plans to expand Kisima House and perhaps add some 20 or 30 rooms in the extensive grounds which slop down into a little valley through which a small stream runs and I look forward to seeing that project take off and allow more people to stay there, at the start or end of a safari or when visiting Nairobi on business. Yes, it takes a little more time for the commute into the city BUT that is so worth it when at the end of the day returning to what continues to be more of a private residence than an ordinary hotel . Be sure I will return there again, when in need to get out of the city for a few days. As fine a little country inn as they come.

After driving through the busy Ngong Road, i arrive at this quiet and serene boutique hotel just past Karen and i can only describe it in one word "Awesome". The peace and quite is all one needs to gather their thoughts or relax and put the world behind you. The food is simply great, and the pool - just the perfect treat after a long hot drive. The true Kenyan hospitality is evident starting from the receptionist (Julia), through to the service staff and ofcourse the manager Steve. I am definitely sure the rest of my stay and overnight in my lovely room with a huge bed will be most comfortable. i will surely be back here soon.

When you think of a serene environment, away from the noise of the city, where you enjoy a home setup with birds balancing the atmosphere with their unending songs and whistles, then think Kisima house. With well trained members of staff, well lit rooms,a secure compound, a swimming pool and a green surrounding, Kisima is the place to be whether its a conference a holiday or just a pop in. I love Kisima, why lie. If I start talking about their food, then I might exhaust the space provided here...

Room Tip: Take the room upstairs on your left, they are spacious and brighter.
