“Downtown Java better than the one in Mama Ngina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

This Java is in a very central place but it is much better, nicer, bigger, cleaner and less crowded than the one in Mama Ngina (also central, downtown place). The menu is typical Java menu http://www.nairobijavahouse.com/good-food/general-menu. No sitting outside, not much of a view (busy street and cars). The serious downside is that there is no wifi. We were served quickly and efficiently, not with a smile, but not with a frown either. Java t shirts for sale. Open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9pm and Sunday from 8am to 8pm.

“Ambience in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

I've seen coffee shops in other places that just do coffee, whereas Java diversified into food as well. The Uniafric branch has very good ambience and enough space that strangers won't come join you if you're sitting in a four seater (like at Mama Ngina) which is always appreciated. Their options aren't half as bad and their coffee is divine. You definitely wanna have the mexican beef burrito. By and large it's the only thing I eat there.

“A breath of fresh air!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

After coming from rural Africa this place was like a breath of fresh air. I could have been in any of the major cities across the world. Delicious coffee, tasty food, modern decor and menu. The staff were pleasant and the menu had something for everyone. Would go back here again.

“Not business friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Original Java Hse at Adams Arcade set a standard the chain is failing to measure up to. WIFI meant I could attend to business as I await company and the food quality did not disappoint partners and new acquaintances. Uniafric Java food drops a notch and Lack of WIFI makes it an unworthy business rendezvous... The coffee fortunately remains a redeeming factor!

“Big and busy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Kenya produces some great coffee and there are a number of coffee chains to choose from, but one of the biggest in the capital is Javahouse. The Uniafric store is big and always busy. There is a nice range of seating, from standard tables to cushioned booths and comfortable sofas. On top of a great latte they serve up a decent range of food, including some nice sandwiches, salads and burgers.
Javahouse Uniafric is in a central location and is a great place for a morning coffee or a tasty meal.
