I took a chance staying here lacking any reliable reviews. Turned out to be a good choice!
Mimosa is a combination of 1-3 bedroom apartments. It is quite secure with several security guards, K-9's in the evening and electrical separating it from nearby streets. Staff are friendly throughout, from housekeeping to fitness center staff, the Chef's and administrations. It is a cozy feel where you are bound to know your neighbors and other residents. Plenty of quiet, grassy areas around, along with a good size swimming pool, hot tub and sun bathing options. There is a small kitchen where a Chef can prepare a handful of eats from morning till evening, with prices reasonable.
Big Pros: The personal trainers at Mimosa are friendly, energetic and best of all, complimentary. The fitness center itself is small, but has a decent number of machines and free weights. Compared to other fitness centers around, it's actually not to shabby. The trainers add value for sure! Staff have been responsive to small problems (ie: mosquito net fell of its track, etc.)
Big Cons: The dogs. A private security company across from Mimosa houses their dogs in small kennels by day. The dogs bark on occasion. And when they bark, they all bark for 10-15 minutes at a time. This noise can be day or not, but probably effects certain units more than others. Be sure to inquire!
Billing for items from the kitchen is as you go. There is no direct billing to your final bill like in a folio. A nightmare for those of us who have to submit receipts for business purposes.
I also have a general feeling I missed some sort of welcome/introduction. Small annoyances such as a lack of TV stations that tune in, realization that paper-products (toilet tissue) and cleaning products are the guests responsibility would have been good to know on Day 1 (or even before arrival).
Finally, other than the small kitchen on site, the nearest selection of dining options is about a 5 minute cab ride at Pretige and/or Yaya Center, or 15-20 minutes walking (not recommended in the evening due to safety concerns).
Overall, i'm glad I chose to stay at Mimosa when I did. It's clean, cozy and fun. It's not everything, and it certainly has a few problems, but I imagine other similar residential communities like this have some as well.
