“Good story”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

A group of traveler went to the museum, a farm owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. Nice and well preserved farm house not too far from Nairobi. In my opinion is not a must see but noy to many attractions in the city are avilable.

“Tour of Karen Blixen House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We had our own personal guide take us through the Karen Blixen Museum who was extremely informative. We had seen the movie Out of Africa and it was very interesting to go through the house where Karen Blixen lived.
Lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden was lovely also.

“"I had a farm at the foot of the Ngong hills..."”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

If you're familiar with the opening lines of this famous movie from the 80s, this museum is a must. You learn a lot from the free guides (tips appreciated) about the life and times of Karen Blixen, played by Meryl Streep in Out of Africa. Some authentic pieces of furniture is mixed with replicas which provide a taste of what life would have been like early last century in Nairobi. Lots of quirky facts about Karen are thrown in for good measure (like why Karen wore two hats when working in the sun and what the red and green lights outside her porch signified to her lover.)

“An unusually interesting area and House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

It had been a long time since i had watched the film "Out of Africa" but all the scenes were brought back to my memory when touring the house. I am glad they preserved a lot of the original art work and movie props. The guides were well trained in history and they had a good system for not overflowing the museum.
