“Highlight are the Fossils of Early Humans”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

The highlight of the museum are the fossils of early humans. They also have a collection of stuffed specimens of all birds present in Kenya, which is quite impressive. And there is a variety of other stuff on Kenyan history and customs that seemed a bit superficial. The cafe is quite nice overlooking the gardens where you can walk. Price is fairly high for foreigners at 1200 Shillings or $15.

“Worth a trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Lots of great taxidermied safari animals. Kids and adults alike would love this. Great artificats/fossils and exhibit on evolution of humans from apes. There is an ajoining snake and reptile park. You can do both in just a few hours. And there is a nice little coffee shop inside.

“Expensive for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

1200 Shillings for foreigners. The collection itself is decent enough and one can easily spend 1-2 hours wandering around, but it does seem a little overpriced for what you get.

“Needs an update”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

A bit stogy but there is some hope - Displays need a redo and the various art exhibits are not the best in quality. The recent Kanga exhibit needs to be made permanent. Displays are dusty, and the wildlife displays need a bit of a touch up.

“Splendor within”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Within the city, under the refreshing sun, a breeze of cool air brushes your cheeks as you realize what you have gotten yourself in to.. Magnificence! Cradle of mankind, art, a sad but winning history of Kenya, the making of a railway, precolonial tales, Ornithology, smiley faces, gift shop, cafe, a botanical garden, technology-aware!

The list is endless. The better part is when you can stroll back to your hotel just within the city. The kids loves it too.
