“emotional history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

the museum offers a detailed history of Kenya and the Kenyan culture from colonial era to date. the bird gallery is very detailed and informative. my favourite bit was the prehistoric gallery that showcases how Africa and especially Kenya is the Cradle of Mankind. Very impressive!

“wonderful experience on a Sunday morning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

liked the quietness and not so crowded since it was a Sunday morning. it was easy to move around the entire museum, the artifacts, history, live animals, the guides everything was great! but the ladies toilets near the entrance didn't have any water flowing in the taps, but there was water int he other toilets inside. also they need to be more keen on the descriptions they have for the art on the walls. some descriptions had spelling errors which is a bit shameful that no one noticed this since we saw this on 2 occasions. the crocodiles, snakes, fish, turtles, tortoises were all lovely to see! a must do for anyone around the area.

“Interesting History Lesson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

See the bones of some of the earliest Humans. An excellent lesson in Evolution and also some interesting info on Kenya's modern struggle for independence.

“History Lesson”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Very impressed by the history that was retold from colonial times, through independence struggle to the current history. A guide is provided and they happen to be University Interns who are very knowledgeable of the history. The photos of the struggle, railway construction with Indian labor, Kenya history and the number of different birds was great. We spent 2 hours there but one can spend four hours easy. Good job Kenya.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

I read so many reviews of this place that I was really excited about going. When I got there, however, I was pretty disappointed at what was on offer. The only cool thing was seeing a stuffed honey badger. Those things are awesome.
