“Value for Money - varied palate and entertainment offered”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2010

This was the second time we opted to stay during Sept 2010, in this hotel. Lat time was in the month of April 2010. We found the people very warm and helpful - attentive to the needs of business travelers like us. I visited this hotel - both the times with our MD - and though he is a pure vegetarian - he enjoyed his stay and the food choices available to him.

We could see the importance of the Hotel - apart from being right in the center of the town - and being beside the freeway - the place was full of celebrities - attending one function or another. As far as the Hotel Guests are concerned - we never got hassled by this - and these programs were handled with utmost discretion and with minimum disturbance to the us.

We also discovered an exceptional and exclusive club on the 10th (or 11th ?) floor - which we went with one of our clients - I wonder if that is open to the guests. That for me to check out and report the next time I am there.

A gaming / shopping arcade section - with a casino - tops up the need for going out in the evening.

I would definitely stay here. I booked on Hotels.com which was way cheaper than on travelocity.com etc websites. There are VERY few hotels in Nairobi being a developing country, local people do not stay at hotels, so they tend to be expensive. Get back to the hotel by 5pm AT THE LATEST. The area is fine during the day, but after 6pm the tenor and tone of the area changes..and not ina good way.

Has high security due to a recent bombing in the Uhuru Park area

we had an enforced 1 night stay here due to a flight being cancelled so we probably not in the best of moods anyway, but this is not really a very nice hotel. It looks impressive from outside and the lobby area which is full height and very glitzy. Lots of shiny brass everywhere but when you go to the room thats where it ends. Rather uncomfortable twin beds with 1 threadbare pillow and very second hand bedding. The shower was fine and it was clean but rather shabby-it certainly does not look like the rooms displayed on their website. Dinner is a buffett affair which had good choice but not great cuisine, and do watch out for waiters bringing an already opened 1.5 litre bottle of wine which we ended up paying for despite asking just for a standard bottle!
A previously stated - rather a lot of dubious looking women hanging around. Is this a hotel or brothel??
Rather uncomfortable checkout - my partner paid the bill and as we were driving away we were chased by hotel staff who said i hadn't paid. We had to keep everyone in the minibus waiting while it was sorted out-obviously 2 different names in 1 room was too much for them to understand!!

The service experienced was first class.
The stuff in the room was excellently arranged.
The hotel is located close to a National park where one could relax.
The staff at the hotel were smart and up to task.

The hotel is over priced, service is slow, carpets are soiled and the bathrooms needs an immediate makeover. It can be at best given a 3 star rating for which the tariff is exorbitant.. The only positive is the swimming pool which is centrally heated. Will not stay with them in future

Not a bad hotel - staff is extremely friendly and responsive; rooms are average but clean. Good location, close to downtown and several shops and small restaurants/coffeeshops/nightclubs in walking distance. Felt safe walking the streets around the hotel at night. Hotel is quiet, not much going on in the lobby or at the bar at night. Breakfast is very good; didn't try the restaurants otherwise.
Ask for room away from Uhuru highway, otherwise it is loud if you open the window.
