“In love with this place :-))”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2010

This is my first time writing review after been checking everytime the reviews of all the travellers when I will travelling somewhere. And I think I must give a compliment to this place. so it time to start to do the review with the good start for myself as well! We think this place is something make us feel special and feeling like home more then the hotel. Maybe it becuase of the asmosphere and the garden.. :-) I believe that to the ones who have never been this place before will also say the same once you step your feets in there, Just like me.. very impressed. everything so clean. And there are 5 restuarants in this hotel (more like resort to me) that you can enjoy different food, and they have lovely setting swimming pool area. it s too chilly for us to swim these days thought but still love to just read and relax by the pool. By the way, if you like - check out the Yaya steet market if you like to shop for some suveniour stuffs. Bargain from 10 down to 2 , that what I been told and its true becuase we tried, but not everything of course :-)

We re going to stay there again this weekend coming and actually planning to stay there in every weekend on the 3 months coming! coz we need this place after stay somewhere for work during the weekday. so now you see how much we fall in love with it. :-))

We stayed here years ago, and because of the location decided to try it again. Glad we did. The service is excellent, food superior, room (business) clean, miminalist, safe, quiet. You could even open the windows. The beds were hard but on request you can get a topper. If you like to read, you'll find the lighting wonderful.

I stayed here on 3 occasions during December 2009/January 2010.

The hotel has a nice atmosphere, it is quiet and the staff are friendly. The hotel is surrounded by splendidly kept gardens and that setting is a perfect contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. Food from room service which I sampled on several occasions was also well organised and nicely served. The pool restaurant provided the nicest meal of those taken in the hotel.

An issue that arose with our booking (which we discovered was caused by me being misled by the Kenyan Agents making my booking) was handled professionally and efficiently by one of the directors of the hotel.

My only gripe was that when the hotel was contacted for the e-mail address of a director, in order to raise this issue, the hotel repeatedly refused to help. This seemed odd behaviour given that this is a family owned hotel, not part of a large corporate empire.

Overall I would definitely stay at this Hotel again on my next visit to Nairobi as I enjoyed the peace and tranquillity if affords guests.

The Fairview is amazing. The room (I stayed in a 'First Class' room) was immaculate, comfortable, spacious and lovely. The breakfast buffet ample and delicious. Staff were fabulous. Gardens and grounds gorgeous. Gym and pool great and clean. It's family run and owned too, which makes it even better. We had a world-class meal at the Pango Brasserie and a fabulous bottle of wine in the wine cellar. Overall, a fantastic stay. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Nairobi. Book early. This place is packed all the time.

if you go to Nairobi - just for a night or two around a safari or on business - go the Fairview. I last came here 15 years ago and it was a good hotel then, it is even better now. Very safe, away from the traffic-plagued town centre but walking distance for business during the day and a cheap taxi ride to go to restaurants. Not that you need to go into town, the Fairview has several restaurants - including a v good sushi bar.

Rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and clean. Staff are v helpful and efficient. Nice grounds to sit out in and not stupidly expensive. Great place. Only whinge - very noisy ibis in trees near the hotel. Can they be fitted with silencers?

This was the highlight of our trip, and we enjoyed every bit of this hotel. We stayed at the First Class room for 2 nights and the room, service and food was lovely. There is so much to walk about and see on the property that even though its a business hotel, we loved staying here for our leisure tri[p too.

We found this Hotel on the Net, browsing through the Hiltons and Holidays Inns of Nairobi until we decided to take a chance on the Fairview, mainly because it was one of the closest to the airport. Well..... what a pleasant surprise! This Hotel might as well come out of a "Out of Africa" type of movie!! 4 restaurants, great selection, nice clean rooms, big swimming pool, a gym and magnificient surrondings. The decor makes you travel in time in a heartbeat. The staff is polite and professional.
