My first impression of the Fairview Hotel was just how security conscious they were, I mean, how many Hotels do you stay at where they make you put your bags through an x ray machine before you even check in. It turns out that the hotel is across the street from the Israeli Embassy and as such all of the guests bags were x-rayed. The service at the counter was efficient, polite and helpful, the room was quiet, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was ok, but I thought a little overpriced. There is a shuttle that takes you to the Nairobi Airport directly from the hotel and it was $25.00 US and there were 4 of us, so that was a good deal. I will definitely stay at the Fairview on my next trip to Nairobi. All and all, a sea of tranquility in what otherwise can be described as a busy and frantic city.
