“Genuine, local hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

We've stayed one night at this hotel during November 2011 and it was a great start to our holiday. The staff were really very attentive and provided great assistance although we've arrived early hours of the day.
We stayed in room 3, Ground Floor; large room with a good sized en-suite. Clean, spacious, comfortable.
Although we haven't used them, but the hotel garden and restaurant looked lovely and very well looked after.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3, Ground Floor; large room with a good sized en-suite. Clean, spacious, comfortab...

Lovely appearing hotel with beautiful gardens and pools. But rooms priced at lowest is still not good enough. Small rooms. Small tv. Like a bachelor pad or dorm room for one. It's clean so that's good. But the sound between rooms is bad. Just last night I lost at least 1hr sleep because the person next door was snoring loud. On my previous trip I could hear people take in room across hallway. Restaurants are lovely but food in general is very expensive. So between value for money and room quality this hotel gets an average rating from me. I hope one day we could find a hotel priced for a fair benefit. However if price is not a concern, then spend away. Best you go for the higher prices rooms which are huge.

Several stays now at the Fairview and I am so thankful to the folks who gave me the heads up about this wonderful place. On my first trips to Kenya my organization put me up at the Hilton and the Intercon but there is absolutely no comparison. The rooms, grounds, pool, and staff of the hotel are fabulous. I tend to try to get a high end room as the difference in price isn't that great and having one of these rooms is so nice after a long flight and then to just stretch out in. The hotel itself exudes the days of colonial Africa with rich woods and many nooks and crannies that one can get lost in. The dining room is gorgeous. If only one thing I would improve it would be the food which is good but not great. Fruits and vegetables tend to be very good but meats are definitely hit and miss though this is typical of the region.
Free WiFi is fairly fast and quite reliable. Transfers to and from the airport are painless and also very reliable in my experience.

Room Tip: I love the large 'First Class' rooms. Well worth the price. They do have separate, outside e...

The Fairview Hotel is the most beautiful place you could wish to stay in. The rooms are great, the grounds are beautiful, the restaurants and food are to die for and the staff are brilliant - especially the SIMPLY AWESOME Ibrahim!!!! It is worth staying there just so you can experience his beautiful smiling, welcoming face!! Loved it, loved it and loved it some more!!!!

I recently stayed at the Fairview as the organisation I work for were running a workshop for 3 days there. It is a great place - everything good - food, staff and service. You also feel very safe there and you would hardly believe that you were staying in a very busy city. The gardens are lovely and a welcome break from sitting in a conference room all day. I would recommend this hotel very highly.l

An oasis the middle of an African City, walking distance to Nairobi Downtown.... Their Gardens beautiful, with great bird wildlife and Bull Frogs........
The pool is consistent in its cleanliness..
The gym is great, but when busy requires another CV piece of machinery..
There are many restaurants all serving great and varied food. Including great Sushi.
The service everywhere is next to none and Judy and William are always on the case!
Rooms are clean and interesting gifts arrive once a week if you are staying for any length of time... Beds are comfortable and there is always plenty of hot water and internet connections.. Excellent considering the number of power cuts Nairobi has?
Taxi drivers are on 24 hour availability and again better value for money than others elsewhere..
The security of this hotel is high...

Thanks to the Fairview Owners and Team
