“A real beauty: Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2011

This hotel is beautiful and its website does not do it justice. The room we had was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was delicious and showers were hot which after coming off a Safari were a welcome pleasure:)
Due to an emergency we needed to stay an extra day, having 3 rooms this was quite difficult and although they were not able to accomodate us in the hotel proper they went out of their way and allowed 4 of a party of 6 to stay in their long term apartments for the extra night at hotel price.
The apartment may not have been as updated as the hotel but their level of flexibility and accomodating attitude was amazing.
We ate at 3 out of the 5 restaurants on the premises and all were outstanding. We also hired a driver for 2 days directly from the hotel and both that we used were very good and fair with price.
Overall, an amazing time and will recommend the Fairview to all that ask.
Kudos to your staff.
Patricia

I really like this hotel. It is all the good things other reviewers have said but for me I just feel comfortable here. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Close to the centre of Nairobi is a hotel than manages, miraculously, to maintain an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Admittedly the journey to the hotel, particularly if coming from the airport during the rush hours can be less than pleasant but once through the gates of the hotel, chaos ends.
Professional and friendly staff will do all they can to assist you and ensure that your stay is everything you hope for. I understand that the rooms vary enormously, I was delighted with the facilities in the business class room.
Conference packages are amongst the best in Nairobi and it was a pleasure to find everything in place, as requested.
For those of you who may be concerned about security in Nairobi, the Fairview is your answer, very high levels of security are standard with surveillance cameras throughout public areas and the car parks.

Room Tip: Book a business class room!

For a solo businesswoman, the security was terrific, including the hotel approved taxis that charged the given rate, knew their way everywhere I needed to go, and always showed up at the appointed time.
5 restaurants, with enough variety that I never had to eat the same thing twice.
Enormous, spotless bathroom, with plenty of hot water. Comfy bed with spotless linens.
Would definitely stay there again.

This was our 8th time to stay at the Fairview in recent years and the hotel continues to get better and better. They are continually making improvements, while at the same time keeping the "old" Africa ambience. The grounds are magnificent, great staff, and fantastic breakfast! We have no intention of staying elsewhere when in Nairobi.

My wife and I stayed in a first class room at the Fairview this past April,2011 after a week-long safari. It's a perfect way to end such a trip--cradled in an Edonic spot near the heart of Nairobi. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the restaurants (four of them) are outstanding with creative cuisine served in lush tropical settings, and the staff are VERY gracious, welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a list of approved taxi drivers who can escort you to the many nearby tourist and shopping sites well worth a trip. I especially recommend the elephant orphanage and some of the upscale outlets for native crafts. I would definitely skip the Masai market and other such numerous places where the prices are inflated over 1000% (not a typo) and you're shadowed and hassled by salespeople.

Stayed here for 5 nights and loved the hotel. Breakfast was extensive and had lots of choice they even opened up in the morning before the time which was good for us as we had to leave early some mornings for a trip so had a full breakfast if we wanted it. The choice of different eating place was good and the beautiful layout of the gardens were lovely and nice to walk around in the evening. Dinner in the evening was good except the first night I had their popular dish which was a chicken curry with nice and nan but when the rice came it was hard and said to the waiter when he collected my place but he just walked off. Like the idea that the bill included a service charge. Thought the prices of the meals were about average and not overly priced. Rooms was large and airy and had a queen size bed and good size bathroom. The room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. Wanted to use the internet but it was expensive. Will definitely stay there again.

We have recently hired a Training Manager to enhance service delivery.

Regarding internet- please remember that our wifi is free and only in the Business Centre does one have to pay for internet.

Thank you once again for taking the time to give us feedback.
