“Just What I Needed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

Arriving to a strange country, late at night, after an exhaustive 26 hours of travel, the Hilton Nairobi was just what I needed - good security, cordial, but prompt check-in, escort to my room, pleasant, well-appointed room and excellent room service for a late night meal!

A towering hotel in central business district of Nairobi. An excellent place for business travelers to Nairobi. A very caring staff. Little far from the Airport. many local handicrafts shops nearby for a great deal on purchases. Staff is always ready to help you with small issues in a new city. Sumptuous breakfast to top it all to energize you for a long day's work

I am a Hilton Diamond member and must say that the hotel staff are world class. However, the hotel needs to be refurbished floor by floor soon. Very 1996 feel from the cafe to the room themselves! An icon in the 1970s is not enough in 2014.

Good hotel with value for money. Expected as the brand is hilton. Good location and security was very good. Hotel services were excellent. In kenya, Hilton has made our stay good and even the food quality was good as it had Indian and continental food. Executive Lounge was very good from the 15th floor you could have a view of the city.

It was a great experience as always. Being a return guest i did feel at home and especially the Bell staff and front desk staff were great through out my stay. I would like to single out Christine in the restaurant, Faith and Mr. Baraza at the from Desk and the bell captain. Always made sure that i received a great experience.

I stayed at the Nairobi Hilton in January with two other colleagues for about 14 days and what a mistake it was. Had we not prepaid the stay, we would have moved out on day one. To start, the hotel was undergoing construction and no one bothered to tell us at the time of reservations. Drilling noise was most annoying. Room service trays left in the hall way for days. Restaurant running out of orange juice at 7:15 AM!! Internet was only free in the lobby and you needed an access code which did not work more than 70% of the time, so you had to keep going back and forth to get a code that worked, unless of course, you paid an additional $22/day, when all other hotels offered it for free. Exorbitant charges at the pool bar! The worst experience you could have with the laundry service that managed to ruin the clothes without any consideration of compensation. Frozen pizzas and canned mushrooms after a good hour wait to be served! I could go on and on. The hotel does not look it has undergone any renovations in ages (I had a broken chair in my room that collapsed when I sat on it!). Not sure how Hilton International allows the use of its name on this shabby place! Don't make the same mistake that we did. Hotel was made fully aware of all this and all they could offer were apologies.

Room Tip: No good rooms to choose. Just stay away!
