“Expensive but a great place to be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Very good facilities. Friendly people, security personnel watchful but discreet. Snack-bar opened until late at night. Restaurant by the pool [one of two]. Quiet atmosphere during night time. Some shops indoor selling a variety of items, from clothing to toothpaste, postcards and native art, paintings and wood-carving sculpture.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view to the inner side of the complex. The street view is not consistent wi...

An older style hotel, and the better for it. Efficient and pleasant staff, a choice of to eateries, and the wi-fi is good. Great for either business or a break ... with two pools and always the lovely sound of chirrupping frogs at night. Recommended - as not large, modern and anonymous.

Strategically situated in Westlands, close to almost anything you require (business related), if you choose to ignore the traffic factor.

great structure, clean rooms and beautiful garden, you can forget you're in urban area for a short while.

The Mayfair Nairobi has a lovely meat ranch. We enjoyed the steaks with friends over the Easter holidays. The service was exemplary and the steaks so juicy and mouthwatering.
The place also has a lovely casino and serene gardens. A good place for a family or friends day out. It is located in a very safe part of town, in Westlands.

my husband and I stayed at this hotel in January 2012 and found it really nice. Our room was rather small but that was the only downside of it and a bit pricy but i guess worth it. There is a Spur steak ranch on one side of the hotel but you have the choice of eating from the hotel diner which to us was preferable as it is buffet style and has a wide range of foods and deserts to choose from. It has a beautiful setting with lovely well tended gardens around the hotel, two swimming pools on each side of the hotel, a chill out lounge and a casino across the road. Its like a maze but great. We enjoyed our stay here as it's a 5 minute walk from Yaya/Sarit centre(not quite sure which one) and many transport routes into the city centre. Overall it was a great experience and would go there again. I reccommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Confirm your reservation before. Ask for the rooms overlooking the pool by the hotel restaurant.

We called at this colonial type hotel three times during our kenyan safari - over-night on arrival, for lunch half way through and on the day of our departure.
Room was clean and comfortable, food was good and staff friendly and very attentive.
There is a steak house type restaurant attached to the hotel, where we ate the first night - huge steak reasonably priced, and an alternative to the hotel menu.
Two pools to choose from, one by the bar/restaurant and one in the well maintained garden surrounded by mature trees.
Although we were on holiday, I would think that this would be an ideal place to stay for a business trip to Kenya

Simply the best place to stay in nairobi, westlands, easy access to Westlands properties and not miles away from city centre. Wifi works like a dream. staff are superb!General manager is "awesome" for lack of a better word. there is no such thing as NO. Best value for money. Not sure why more safari companies are not using it.
