“Great place for bikes and hikes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

When it is dry, I go to Karura almost every week. When it rains, the trails are muddy and not as pleasant for hikes or bikes.

It is a great place to bike with the kids.

“Amazing to have in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

I go here at least once a week. For a massive city in Africa, it is really a blessing to have a huge green space that is clean and safe. The weekends can be busy, but never so much to take away from being there. A walk in the morning before work is an excellent way to start the day. Kids are happy to to the walk; butterfly season is wonderful.

“excellent place for a green walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Visit this place regularly with friends for a nice stroll often.

Best part is that there is so many places within here that you will not see twice - a definate for the nature buff and soo close to the city as well.

“I ride my bike there.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

There are few places where you can get away from crowds, commune with nature and FEEL SAFE. This is one of them. I don't know of any other.

“A perfect way to spend a morning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

I was looking for a place in/near Nairobi where I would be surrounded by the beautiful nature of Kenya. I thought about going on the safari walk at the national park, but imagined there would be many tourists there and I didn't really want to see wild animals in enclosed areas (even though this is ostensibly better than being kept in cages). I was really glad I went to Karura. It was an easy ride there and the forest was serene and beautiful if a few different meandering trails leading to a waterfall. We also spotted some monkeys, small deer and lots of beautiful birds and butterflies fluttering along out path. The entrance fee is 100 KSH for residents and 600 KSH for foreigners/non-residents. Well worth it.
