We've been to the Phoenician a couple of times now and have really enjoyed it.
The first time we went we sat outside downstairs and had mixed Lebenese and Sushi dishes, opting for the Popcorn vegetarian sushi, the falafels (just like from the middle east!), hummus and salad. All the dishes were really tasty, and the range of vegetarian options available was great. Sitting outside got a little chilly, and it was a shame to be so near the car park but the jikos made us a little warmer.
The second time we went with a group of friends and realised that the main restaurant is actually upstairs on the 4th floor. The menu is more extensive (including burgers and pizza, though why you'd want to eat those at this restaurant is beyond us!) and includes a selection of cocktails which aren't available downstairs.
One of us ordered the chorva (reported to be very good), one the vegetable gyoza and the vegetable tempura (both excellent), and two of us shared the royal fish sushi combo which was huge and apparently very tasty.
The only time I've heard someone complain about the food was about the mixed meat grill from the Lebanese section which was described as 'disappointing' but otherwise, we've really enjoyed all the food we've had there!
With several cocktails each and a shisha outside on the balcony at the end, it wasn't a cheap meal (about £25 a head if that's helpful to you) but as a place to go for a nice meal, it's hard to beat in Nairobi!
