We stayed at Rusam while on an aid trip. We were volunteering in the slum area of Soweto so, the Rusam Villa was a good, central location. The man who runs the guest house was very nice. The daily breakfast was always prompt, well prepared, and quite adequate to begin the day. We had a problem with the hot water heater in our shower. We were immediately moved to an alternate room even though it was very late in the evening. The furnishings and linens are basic but everything was clean. There were mosquito nets over every bed. We did not have to the need to use ours, we did not encounter any mosquitoes. The other three woman in our group did use theirs but, just as a precaution, they were not pestered by bugs.
