Have been to River Café a number of times, but with the young kids, we never managed to get there for breakfast until last week. The setting is great, except for the occasional whiff of raw sewage - septic tank problems somewhere?
Food is OK, cappuccinos very good and I took the French Toast which was excellent. However, the full breakfasts are extremely disappointing: soggy bread with the crusts cut off (why? we're not 5 years old), one limp sausage, damp potatoes. I know it has been raining the night before, but why was everything so damp/limp? Also, why the supermarket sausages, you would have thought at a decent restaurant you would get sausages that had some reasonably good meat, rather than the "mechanically-recovered" type. Hint to River Café management: the butcher in Yaya Centre has excellent sausages.
Good point for those with kids is that there is a lady on Sundays who leads craft activities for kids.
