“Beef is divine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Love the food, its so yummy and full of flavor...amazing. It makes one appreciate italian food and not just the pizzas. Loved the wine selection too. Will definately be making numerous comebacks. For that beef, cooked in any technique, am game.

“Best Italian food in Kenya!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

Nice quiet place in a great location at the Village market.

Delicately decorated giving it a summery and open feel. Fantastic personalised wait staff.
Must try the wood fired pizzas and the Osteria special pasta!

“Osteria Gigiri Nairobi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

A pleasant place for a lunch or dinner. A bit difficult to find in the maze that is the Village Market. Has a nice outdoor area, but unfortunately, when I visited for lunch there was a construction project going on over the wall and the noise was a bit disconcerting. Hopefully, that is not the case at nice. Very good menu selection to choose from. I had talipia and it was very large portion and well grilled. The grilled vegetables were very good as well. Overall it was good value for money and worth another visit. Service was good, but I was there early for lunch so no sure how it might be if they were busy.

“Little gem tucked away in Village Market - Buon appetito!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Delicious comfort food and warm efficient service - what could be better? We are regular customers of this lovely italian restaurant tucked up on the top corner of Village Market shopping center in Gigiri.
As soon as you place your order you are presented with a large complimentary tasty tomato bruschetta. Keep this in mind, as you might not need to order an appetizer! From there you can choose between delicious pizzas, pastas and meat dishes. My personal favorites are the papardelle with mushroom sauce and penne amatriciana, although my husband swears by the pizzas. The only weakness might be the desserts, but otherwise we’ve never been disappointed by anything we’ve ordered.
Great for lunch or dinner and check out Friday nights for live jazz while you enjoy your meal. And say hello to Nico, the charming Manager, who will do everything in his power to make sure you have a great evening!

“Great Pasta but Terrible Tiramisu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

I'm always anxious at trying new places and not knowing the reputation of their food. But I got it right and ordered the Pasta Osteria with a delicious cream-based tomato sauce and mushrooms. Just to die for!!!! Decided to conclude this lovely meal with dessert and ordered the Tiramisu. What I received was a piece of dry cake with icing on top and that's what they call "Tiramisu". Okay, so maybe it was their own version but there were no lady fingers, not even a taste of the coffee liquer. I was HUGELY disappointed and returned the cake. I can't believe that they would pass this for Tiramisu. I suggest that you take a quick trip downstairs to the newly-opened bakery called Tiramisu and have them make Tiramisu on your behalf because theirs is 100% authentic and the best I've had, ever.
I will definitely return for the pasta just not dessert:)
