“Cheap n cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

You won't find this place featured in the next Vogue Travel & Entertaining magazine but it's cheap, it's cheerful with some authentic Kenya cuisine. Try the ugali, a starchy, stodgey, maize-like side accompaniment. The Daini chicken is nice too. I went back a few times when the Crowne Plaza room service menu lacked appeal.

“Good option to neighboring Crowne Plaza but limited menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

Gazebo Grill is across the street from the Crowne Plaza in the Upper Hill district. It is a choma restaurant (Kenyan speciality, large portions of beef or chicken--occasionally you can see the cook hacking away at a carcass suspended from a hook in a room visible to diners just off the kitchen) so the limited menu is largely based on variations of these two meats; the vegetarian choices appear to be an afterthought.. Large portions, moderate prices, good value. It has several dining areas, The restaurant and bar draw lots of locals of various nationalities. It changes its theme during the day--evenings until 7:35 it is a sports bar, then they put on African music except Fri-Sat when they go disco. If you're staying at the Crowne Plaza, you can get a good breakfast (juice, fresh fruit, cereal, toast or popover, eggs, coffee/tea) for KSh 500, a seventh of what you'd pay at the hotel (though the eggs are cooked to death).

“Decent restaurant if you are staying in upper hill area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

This is a good value for money choice if you are staying in Crowne Plaza. The choices are limited but the price is reasionable and food tastes good. I had dinner there 3 / nights I was in Narobi.

“Great Place For Beers, Roast Beef!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

Nice location in upperhill area of Nairobi, though the place had many tables reserved the day we visited the waiter did well to find us a table for our group, the service was quick and freindly, the food was exellecent but know if you are a tourist visiting here know that people in these parts of the world like their meats well done, we had a balst there! Recomended
