“An ok budget hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The sentence from their website "a luxurious and stylish hotel located at the heart of Nairobi’s city centre!" does not really come to mind when I think of this hotel. In fact every time I read it I think of some web guy dreaming all this stuff up and I chuckle. Hotel Green Court would best be described as a basic, budget, backpackers hotel with small, dated and well used rooms. There is no air conditioning and there is also no wifi at all anywhere in the hotel. The front desk staff is very indifferent.

On the plus side, the rooms are reasonably clean, functionable and damn cheap. (1800ksh a night) You do have hot water in the shower from a heated shower head and the beds were comfortable. You don't really need aircon in Nairobi as it is so cool at night (although really noisy during the day) and the wifi issue was not too much of an issue as the 3G load is really..really cheap. (We're talking maybe100ksh for 80mb) so we just used our iphones. There are also internet cafes hidden all over the place. The front desk staff was a bit aloof, but the security staff women up front made up for it with her huge smiles and willingness to help us out with taxi's and directions. We did not eat in the restaurant or go to the bar on-site so I don't have any feedback on that.

The location was good, right in the middle the city center in the busy bus and matatu parking area and an easy walk or 100 -200ksh taxi fare to anywhere downtown you needed to go. You are surrounded by just about anything you need.

All in all, Hotel Green Court worked out fine, it was an ok hotel and was very cheap in comparison to other hotels in Nairobi and by all means will work out great for any traveler wanting a clean room with out a huge price. Yes, I would stay here again.
